LEOMINSTER --- Mary A. Rogers, 73 years old of Leominster, MA passed away peacefully at UMass Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester, MA surrounded by her loved ones on Christmas Day. Mary was born on August 22nd, 1943, in Bangor, ME, and was the daughter of Joseph J. Raimo and Mary A. Sancuk of Boston, MA.
Mary worked for Foster Grant in Leominster for over ten years. Mary also attended Clark University and later Mount Holyoke College where she worked as head housekeeper of Pearson Hall and was cherished and adored by all of the students and faculty that had the pleasure of knowing her as well as the president of the university.
Mary is survived by her husband of 52 years, John E. Rogers of Leominster, her daughter, Deborah Doher and husband Glenn, her son, Sean Rogers and his fiancée Melissa Cote, her three grandchildren, Kyra, Alec “A.J.”, and Jaden Doher, all of Leominster, MA, her brothers, Michael Hutchinson of Tampa, FL, and Joseph Raimo and his wife Mary of Leominster, MA.
Cooking and being surrounded by her loved ones brought lots of joy to Mary’s life. She brought everyone together during the holidays with her wonderful meals and loving presence. She enjoyed traveling to Wells, ME and being at the beach. More than anything, Mary treasured her roles of being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was resilient, nurturing and strong, and her family was extremely grateful and lucky to have been loved by such a kind hearted soul who brought joy to all. She will be greatly missed.
Mary’s grandchildren brought total happiness to her life, and she spoiled them with her love and affection as well as wonderful meals that she created herself. Every moment with her was special, as she holds a special place in everyone’s heart in her family.
Mary requested a private service with her family. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her over the last three months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
