LEOMINSTER---Edison Curry, 85 years old, formerly of Leominster, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Golden Living Center in Fitchburg. He is survived by his son Michael Curry an his wife Machaela of Virginia, daughter Karen Kaufman of England, his step-daughters Evelyn Thomas and her husband Wilford of New Jersey and Madeleine Senecal of Leominster, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Hildegard in 2015.
Edison was born August 1, 1931 in Scotlandville, Louisiana, son of Ezra and Alma (Haynes) Curry and had lived in Leominster since 1971. He was a Viet Nam War Veteran, where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant in 1971 after serving for over 20 years. Edison then worked at the former Holy Family High School in Fitchburg and the St. Bernard’s Activity Center in Fitchburg.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7th at 10 am in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. Burial will be private.
