LEOMINSTER---Barbara A. (O’Connor) Raher, 96 years old, of Leominster, died April 25, 2017 at the Sterling Village. She is survived by her sons Thomas J. Raher and his wife Grace L. Raher of Leominster and Daniel M. Raher and his Marina M. Raher of Sterling, daughter Maureen P. Dobmeier and her husband Timothy J. Dobmeier of Manchester, NH, 6 grandchildren Michael J. Raher, MD, Joanna L. Raher, Matthew T. Raher, Lindsey A. Bollin, Ryan J. Dobmeier and Kelsey E. Dobmeier. She was predeceased by her husband James M. Raher in 2006 and by her brothers Edward P. O’Connor and Robert V. O’Connor.

Barbara was born July 21, 1920 in Natick, daughter of Patrick Edward and Lucy Ruth (Hannon) O’Connor and had lived in Leominster for many years. She attended the Academy of the Assumption in Wellesley Hills. Barbara worked at City Hall in Leominster for 25 years, first as the mayor’s secretary, then in the city accountant’s office. She was well liked and respected during her years at city hall. She was longtime member of St. Leo’s Church and the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. Barbara Raher was an extraordinary, ordinary woman, who will be missed by here children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors.

Barbara’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29th from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster, with a mass at 11 am in St. Leo’s Church, 128 Main Street, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9 - 10:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Leominster.

My prayers and those of the parish will accompany you on Saturday for Barbara's Mass. I am very happy I was able to come to her before she passed; God does take care of special people.
