~ Robert W. Cosseboom
LEOMINSTER — Robert W. Cosseboom, son of Sylvester G. Cosseboom and Viola M. (Goodwin) Cosseboom of Leominster passed away at home on January 28, 2012. Born August 21, 1926, Bob was a lifelong resident of Leominster.
He worked as a shoe salesman for 56 years with Student Brothers and Fini shoe stores. Bob was the Director of TAG (Teen Age Gathering) for 14 years. TAG donated thousands of dollars in scholarships and athletic awards to many LHS students. Bob was also the donor of the Broderick-Kucharski award which was given each year at graduation. Having graduated as President of the Class of 1945, Bob was an active member of the reunion committee. The class held its’ 65 year reunion in June 2010 at Barbers Crossing in Sterling. Bob was warden for many years in Ward 2A. He was also an avid harness racing fan and a collector of more than 300 movie videos dating from the early 30’s to present.
He leaves two nephews, William S. Lemoine and his wife Charlene of Waukesha, WI and David A. Stebbins of NH. He leaves a grand nephew, Bret Lemoine of Appleton, WI, as well as many valued friends, especially Bob Johnson and memories of his late wife, Sue.
At Bob’s request there will no calling hours and burial services will be private. ~ Walter W. Gillberg
LEOMINSTER — Walter Wilhelm Gillberg, age 96, passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 30, 2012 at Oakdale Rehabilitation Center in West Boylston.
Born August 17, 1915 to Gustaf and Selma Sundstrom Gillberg. He grew up, raised his family, and lived his entire life in Leominster, Massachusetts. Walter was the second youngest of five siblings (Gus, John, Anna and Ragnar). He was a graduate of Leominster High School Class of 1933 and of Worcester Boys Trade School.
He was in the Plastics Industry his entire life and worked as the Superintendent of the Machine Shop at Commonwealth Plastics for 20 years and then another 20 years at Cellu-Plastics, a subsidiary of Brockway Glass Company in Fitchburg and at Sterling Manufacturing, retiring in 1982. During this time he served as the President of the Area Council of the National Association of Foremen in New England. He was the oldest living member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Fitchburg, and he was a fifty-year member of the Leominster Masonic Lodge. He loved his church, his lodge, sports of all kinds, horseracing, but most of all golf, especially his trip to Pebble Beach in 1976 and to the Philippines in 1983.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Violet May Edmand, who passed in 1984. He is survived by his son Eric Gillberg and his wife Dawn of Topsfield, MA, his granddaughter Amber, his beloved sister-in-law Eva Gillberg, and his loving friend of many years, Ms. Lucille Letarte.
A service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1200 John Fitch Hwy, Fitchburg. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 350 Main St. Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster. The family requests that flowers be omitted. LEOMINSTER — Anne M. (Muldoon) (Esposito) Buskey, 86 years old, died Friday, January 27, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Fitchburg on January 22, 1926 the daughter of Stanley and Lena (LaManna) Muldoon and had lived in this area all her life. She was a graduate of St. Bernard High School in Fitchburg and a long-time parishioner of St. Bernard's parish. For over 44 years she owned and operated George's Beauty Salon located in Fitchburg. Anne was an accomplished watercolorist since she was a child, very talented. She was a long-time member of the Leominster Art Association and won many awards throughout the years. All her life Anne loved horses and was an accomplished, competitive equestrienne.
Anne leaves her cousins Margaret DiGeronimo of East Hampstead, NH, Helen Minichiello of Fitchburg, Gabriel LaManna and wife Rosalie of Leominster, Dolores Drew and husband Nelson of Nashua, NH, John LaManna and wife Debra of Florida, several other extended family members and many, many close friends. Anne was predeceased by her first husband Philip Esposito in 1974 and her second husband Frederick Buskey in 1994.

FITCHBURG — Elizabeth A. (Chick) Goerner, 84 years old, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in The Highlands of Fitchburg after a period of declining health.
She was born on May 8, 1927 in Kittery, Maine, the daughter of Edward M. and Carrie E. (Staples) Chick and had lived most of her life in the Fitchburg and Leominster area. Elizabeth was devoted to raising her family and very much enjoyed family life at home. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting with a local sewing club.
She is survived by 2 sons; Richard N. Goerner and wife Carol of Mt. Holly, NC, and Robert W. Goerner and wife Karen of Leominster; 2 grandchildren, Adam W. and Kathryn Goerner; a step grandson Barrett J. Senecal and a step great-grandson Jordan Senecal, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Goerner was predeceased by her husband Richard Goerner in 1986, A son Randy A. Goerner in 1980, 4 brothers, Edward, Wayne, Harold and Richard Chick, 2 sisters, Almeada Johnson and Frances Whitman.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Silas F. Richardson & Son funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. Burial will follow the service in Forest Hill Cemetery, 115 Mt. Elam Rd. Fitchburg. ~ Martha (Laitinen) Saila
LEOMINSTER — Martha (Laitinen) Saila, 102 years old, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in the Keystone Center of Leominster after a period of declining health.
She was born in Finland on March 6, 1909 and moved to this country with her parents at the young age of 6, settling in Gardner. She graduated from Gardner High School in 1928 and had attended past class reunions. She resided in North Worcester County for most of her life. Before her retirement she had worked at Burbank Hospital and for other companies in the area.
Martha was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Jasmine Chapter, Gardner, MA.
She is survived by a daughter Katharine Parisi and husband, Vincent of Leominster, a son Karl Saila and wife, Linda of Brunswick, ME, a grandson Karl Erik Saila and wife, Colleen of Westerly, RI, and 2 great grandchildren, Connor and Kevin Saila. She was predeceased by her husband S. Kalervo “Karl” Saila in 1961 and 9 siblings.

~ Betty Ann (Crooker) Gallant
LEOMINSTER — Betty Ann (Crooker) Gallant, 77 years old, of Leominster, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 in her home after a four year courageous battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her 2 daughters Diana L. Ringer and her husband Steven of Winchendon and Denise A. Dinsmore and her husband Steven of Leominster, her 2 sons David J. Gallant and his wife Michelle of Auburn, Dennis J. Gallant and his wife Kristina of Sherborn, and 11 grandchildren Steven Ringer and his wife Megan, Megan Schoonmaker and her husband Jonathan, Brendan Ringer, Andrea Dinsmore, Spencer Dinsmore, Parker Dinsmore, Jack Gallant, Ethan Gallant, Wesley Gallant, Mackenzie Gallant and Elijah Gallant, 2 great grandsons Freeland Ringer and Thomas Schoonmaker, 3 sisters Loretta Tenaglia of Peabody, Gail Rollins of Clearwater, FL and Linda Stodder of Lakeland, FL and her brother Douglas Crooker of Ipswich, MA. She was predeceased by her loving husband John "Jack" L. Gallant in 2009.
Betty was born December 10, 1934, in Carroll, Maine, daughter of Joseph and Verlie (Merrill) Crooker and moved to Lynn, MA in 1943 where she graduated from Lynn English High School. She met and married John "Jack" Gallant in 1956 and they had 53 years together. Jack and Betty lived briefly in Canton, MA before moving to Leominster in 1966 with their four children and made Leominster their hometown. She was a long time member of the Leominster United Methodist Church.
Betty worked at First Safety Fund National Bank in Fitchburg for 25 years but, Betty’s full time job in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved vacationing in Maine, swimming in her pool, boogie boarding at the beach, and shopping. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan and was never shy about how proud she was of each and every one of them. She was happiest when surrounded by all of her family whether it was a holiday or a Sunday dinner. Betty will be forever loved and missed by us all.

~ William F. Deware, Jr.
FITCHBURG — William F. Deware, Jr., 67 years old, of Fitchburg, died January 20, 2012 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Sylvia A. (Maloney) Deware, 2 sisters Linda Starr and her husband Milton of Pepperell and Brenda Hill of Pepperell, a brother Everett Deware and his wife Rhona of Townsend, and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was born November 15, 1944 in Groton, son of William and Charlotte Melissa (Scott) Deware, Sr. and had lived in Fitchburg for the past 34 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. While in the service he participated in the U.S. Naval School of Aviation Medicine. Bill worked as a meat cutter at Market Basket Supermarkets for 35 years, before retiring in 2004. He was a long time member of the Eastwood Club in Fitchburg and the American Legion Post 193 in Winchendon. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his golfing trips to Myrtle Beach.

GARDNER — Leila A. Legere, 49 years old, died tragically early Sunday morning, January 15, 2012 in a fire at her home. Leila was born on March 13, 1962 in Fitchburg the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Melanson) Legere and had lived in this area most of her life.
She is survived by a son Ian Oglivie of Westfield, 2 sisters; Lucinda Houck of Lincoln, RI and Susan Neal of Odenton, MD, 2 brothers; Robert Legere of Templeton and Wayne Legere of Westminster. Leila was recently predeceased by a brother James Legere who died in December 2011.

LEOMINSTER — Florence T. (Roy) Neumyer, 62 years old, of Leominster, died January 15, 2012 in the Rose Monihan Hospice Home in Worcester after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband of 41 years Edward J. Neumyer, daughter Kelly L. Reynolds of Maynard, sister Mary Ellen Bordeau of Lenox, brother Robert Roy of Pittsfield, sister-in-law Judy Roy of Largo, FL and 3 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Jacqueline Flaherty.
Flo was born July 12, 1949 in Pittsfield, daughter of Francis and Florence (Sheridan) Roy and had lived in Leominster for the past 8 years. She had been the payroll manager for several companies in the area. Flo was a member of St. Anna's Church, the Leominster Eagles, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Harley Owner’s Group. She was an avid motorcyclist.

LEOMINSTER — Leo J. “Spike” Haverty, 84 years old, died on Friday, January 13, 2012 in the Keystone Center in Leominster. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Sheila E. (Nicholson) Haverty, son Brian Haverty of Lunenburg, stepsons Paul LaFosse and his fiancée Tracy Tobin of Mont Vernon, NH, Peter LaFosse and his wife Darlene of Merrimack, NH and Michael LaFosse and his wife Michelle of Pepperell, stepdaughter AnnMarie Young and her husband Christopher of Leominster, daughter-in-law Lori Haverty of Naples, FL, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his nieces Julie Frantzen and her husband Hank, Debbie Grant and her husband Martin, Cindie Brutvan and her husband Don, and his nephew Mike Hastings and his wife Tina. He was predeceased by his son Kevin Haverty, granddaughter Allison Haverty and his brothers John and Phil Haverty.
Spike was born November 1, 1927 in Leominster, son of Joseph and May Haverty and was a life long resident. He graduated from Leominster High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He had been the manager at Mason Bowling Center in Leominster for many years. He was a member of St. Leo's Church in Leominster. Spike was an avid sports fan, enjoyed spending time in Wells, Maine, attending Leominster High School sporting events and attending all of his grandchildren's activities.

LEOMINSTER — Salvatore ‘Sam” A. Perla, Sr., 82 years old, of Leominster, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in the Lifecare Center of Leominster. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years Denise (Bedard) Perla, 2 sisters Anna Antocci and Madeline Girouard both of Leominster, a brother Richard Perla of Leominster, 6 children: Debbie MacDonald Jane Mullett, Richard Perla, Sal Perla, Jr. all of Leominster, Kathleen (Bedard) Brazeil of Ashburnham and Amanda Perla of Ashby, 4 granddaughters: Shayna Mullett, Olivia and Alyssa Perla, Madeline Perla (on the way), 2 grandsons: Joey Brazeil and Nicholas Brazeil, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Louis “Sonny” Perla and Guilio Perla, both of Leominster.
Sam was born in Leominster on February 24, 1929, son of Dominic and Mary (Trenta) Perla and was a life long resident. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1947 and was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, serving in Fire Crash Rescue. He was a self employed master electrician and had also worked for Perla Electric in Leominster. Sam then worked at the Walter E. Fernald State School in Templeton before retiring in 1992. He was an avid bowler, bocce player and golfer. He was a former member of the Monoosnock Country Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Foggia Social Club, and the Italian American Cultural Center in Leominster.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. LEOMINSTER — Jack Henry Miller, 18 years old, of Leominster, died January 8, 2012 in Boston Children’s Hospital after an illness. He is survived by his parents Valentine and Phoebe Miller of Leominster, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jack was a polite young man and always had a smile for everyone he met.

LEOMINSTER — Wally (Mueller) Dassau, 74 years old, of Leominster, died Saturday, January 7, 2012. She is survived by her sons Michael F. Dassau of Worcester and Frank P. Dassau and his wife Heidi of Leominster, her daughter Evelyn D. Dassau of Leominster, her brother Karl-Heinz Muller and his wife Nadine of Milwaukee, WI, grandchildren Shannon Lazard and her husband Justin, Adam Dassau and Jeremy Dassau, a great granddaughter Justine Lazard, a niece Heidi (Muller) Simmons and a nephew Karl-Heinz Muller, Jr. She was predeceased by her husband John P. Dassau in 1994.
Wally was born in Germany on December 21, 1937, daughter of Paul and Erika (Steineke) Mueller and had lived here since 1968. Before moving to the United States she had attended culinary school and had worked as a chef in Germany. She had most recently worked as a product demonstrator at supermarkets. Previously she had worked as a waitress at the Old Mill Restaurant in Westminster and in the Executive Dining Room at the former Foster Grant Co. in Leominster.

~ Bernice Rose (Cormier) Gaudet
STERLING — Bernice Rose (Cormier) Gaudet, 93, of Leominster died peacefully on January 9, 2012 at the Sterling Village Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada on March 7, 1918, the seventh daughter of Tilman and Mary (Leger) Cormier. In 1919 the family settled in Fitchburg, MA. She worked for many years stitching for Margolin Pocketbooks, Comfort Slipper and Totsy Doll Clothes. She and her husband of 60 years, Bill "Willie" Gaudet, who passed away November 6, 1999, enjoyed many years of going to yard sales and flea markets. She also enjoyed reading and attending family gatherings.
She is survived by her son Bill Gaudet and his wife Becky (McAllister) of Leominster, and her daughter Carolyn Whitney and her husband Allan also of Leominster. She also leaves two grandsons, Brian Whitney and his wife Ada of Leominster and Michael Gaudet and his partner Laura Thoman also of Leominster, as well as one granddaughter, Christine (Whitney) Babineau and her husband Steve of Lunenburg. She is also survived by three great-grandsons, Eric Whitney and Matt Whitney of Leominster and Alex Babineau of Lunenburg, and two great-granddaughters, Brianna Babineau of Lunenburg and Madison Whitney of Leominster, as well as a step-great-grandson Jeremy Babineau and his wife Olga of Cape Cod, MA.
Also surviving are two sisters, Margaret Cormier of Fitchburg who turned 100 in May 2011 and Louise Richards of Gardner. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Clifford, Camille, Albert and Arthur Cormier and six sisters, Nellie Boudreau, Minnie Allain, Leona Cormier, Bella Butler, Emma St. John and Emelia Fontaine.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster. LEOMINSTER — Angela Caterina (Baggio) Faiola, 81 years old, died on Sunday, January 8, 2012, in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Faiola was born on January 7, 1931 in Rosa, Provincia Di Vicenza, Italy, the daughter of Francesco and Angela (Geramia) Baggio and lived in this area since 1947. She was married for 42 years to the late Giulio Faiola who died in 1993. After her arrival to this country in 1947, she applied for her U.S. citizenship that she very proudly received in 1956. She worked for the Asher Pants Co. of Fitchburg and for many years worked for the former Foster Grant Co. where she met her husband Giulio. In 1964 on the day her 4th child was born, she became a full time homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. She lived her life for her family and adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, crafting and tending to her flower gardens where she grew many varieties of beautiful, bright colored flowers. She was a longtime communicant at St. Anna's Church of Leominster.
She leaves her 5 children: Anthony Faiola, Julie Ristuben and husband Gregg, Lino Faiola, Chiara Norton and husband Robert, and John Faiola. She also leaves 4 grandchildren: Cristie Misquez, Craig Ristuben, Jessica Faiola and Morgan Faiola-Williams; 2 great-grand children: Kendric Misquez and Danica Frades; 2 brothers: Francesco (Rino) Baggio and Aldo Baggio; 2 sisters: Annamaria Scalco and Bruna Algier and many nieces and nephews located in the U.S and Italy. Mrs. Faiola was predeceased by 2 sisters, Pia Bizzoto and Natalie Rosen.

LEOMINSTER — Jean A. Doyle, 88 years old, of Leominster, died Saturday, January 7, 2012 in her home after an illness. She is survived by her brother-in-law Andrew O’Donnell of Leominster, a cousin Helen Queenan of Orleans and several close friends. She was predeceased by her sister Marcia O’Donnell and her brother William Doyle.
Jean was born in Leominster on July 4, 1923 daughter of William A and Kathryn (Cantwell) Doyle and was a life long resident. She graduated from Leominster High School and the Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing and served with the Army Nurse Corp., during World War II in the Philippines. She then graduated from Boston University and worked as a nurse in homes and clinics and became the director of the VNA in Athol and Leominster. Jean also taught at the Burbank Hospital School of Nursing and worked for the Public Health Department of the Commonwealth of Mass. in Fitchburg and Clinton.
Jean loved spending time at the seashore in New England, especially Damariscotta, Maine and Martha‘s Vineyard. She enjoyed playing cards and attending movies and the symphony. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster, the Homemakers Club of Leominster, the Leominster Senior Center and the Retired State Employees Association.

BOSTON — Frank H. Pennor, 92 years old, died January 1, 2012 at Sterling Village Nursing Center in Sterling, MA.
Frank was born in Boston on December 29, 1919 to Frank G. and Rose C. (Deviller) Brousseau. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Doris (Noseworthy) Pennor also at Sterling Village.
He leaves his children: Thomas and wife Peggy of South Daytona, FL; Robert and wife Carolyn of Bolingbrook, IL; Roberta VanGuilder of Leominster; and daughter-in-law Dayle (Smith) Pennor, widow of deceased son Carl S. Pennor. His siblings remain Barbara Pierce of New Port Richey, FL; Bradley Brousseau and wife Linda of Bradenton, FL; Harold Brousseau and wife Edith of Dedham, MA.
He was the beloved "Papa" to 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 25 for many years and extremely proud of his service to his country in the Merchant Marines during WW II.

FITCHBURG — Frank E. Graves, 45 years old of Fitchburg, passed away December 30, 2011 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife Angela Graves, his son Timothy Graves, his father Earl Graves, his two sisters Marcia Roddy and her husband Peter Roddy and Lynn Gleason and her husband Archie Gleason. He was predeceased by his mother Janet (Gillis) Graves.
Frank was born in Worcester and had lived in Leominster/Fitchburg area for most of his life. He graduated from Leominster High School and served in the U.S. Army. After leaving the army, he worked a variety of jobs, including traveling to Oklahoma for construction.

LEOMINSTER — Joan M. (McCarty) Ferrera, 69 years old, of Leominster, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 in her home after a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years John A. Ferrera, Sr., her sons John A. Ferrera, Jr. and his wife Colleen of Fitchburg and Peter J. Ferrera and his wife Saundra of Leominster, her daughter Shauna M. Dube and her husband Thomas of Fitchburg, her brother James McCarty of Leominster, her sisters Carroll Tersigni and Eileen McCarty both of Leominster, and her grandchildren John Ferrera III, Isabelle Ferrera, Peter Ferrera, Jr., Andrew Ferrera, and Charles Dube.
Joan was born July 11, 1942 in Leominster, daughter of John J. “Dusty” and Helen (O’Connor) McCarty and was a life long resident. She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg. Joan had worked at I.C. Credit Union and was the bookkeeper at City Tire in Leominster for many years. She was a member of St. Leo’s Church and was a member and past president of the former Italian-American Cultural Center in Leominster. Joan was an amazing wife, mother and Grammy. She made a lasting impression on anyone and everyone she encountered. Joan could often be found around Leominster High soccer fields, out about town with her devoted husband John, or anywhere her grandchildren were, spoiling them as much as possible!

LEOMINSTER — Clara E. (Beal) Frazer 87 of Ashby formally of Leominster died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday December 31, 2011 in her Ashby home.
Clara was born September 29, 1924 in Southwest Harbor, Maine. The daughter of Maurice and Mamie (Torrey) Beal and had lived in Leominster for 54 years before moving to Ashby. Clara grew up in Southwest Harbor, Maine before marrying her husband Tony Frazer and spent the next 32 years as a military wife. They lived in France and New Jersey and finally settled in Fort Devens, MA.
Clara was employed as a manager at RH Whites and Fanny Farmers. She enjoyed holidays and spending time with family and grandchildren.
She always expressed her love of Maine and continued to consider it her real home. She is survived by her daughters Jeanne M. Bottalico and her husband Michael of Leominster, MA, Carolyn M. Leblanc and her husband Francis of North Port, FL, Jessie A. Meadows of Leland, NC, Teresa J. Carter and her husband Gary of Chesapeake, VA, and Michelle M. Berube and her husband Scott of Ashby, MA, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters. She was predeceased by her loving husband Antonio A. Frazer in 1993. She was also predeceased by her brothers Marnel Beal and Elmer Reed, her sister Jessie Hamblin and grandsons Francis Leblanc and Danny Leblanc. She was a member of Saint Leo's Church in Leominster.

~ Roger F. Stebbins, Sr.
LEOMINSTER — Roger F. Stebbins, Sr. of Leominster passed away at his home on Saturday December 31, 2011. He was born on January 29, 1933 in Worcester, MA, the son of Edward Stebbins and Rose (Aubuchon) Stebbins.
Roger was a graduate of St. Bernard’s High School and was the Class Treasurer of the graduating class of 1951. At St. Bernard’s, Roger was a star athlete of the school’s baseball, basketball and football teams and he was also a member of the school’s drama club. Roger was an active participant in organizing the many class reunions throughout the years.
Following graduation, he worked for several years with the family’s business, the Union Street Market. Roger pursued a career in television and telephone repair/installation after completing his training in Chicago and worked for many years with companies including RCA, General Electric and Mitel.
Roger resided for most of his life in Leominster. He was a quiet, humble and kind man, who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially at the Stebbins family camp at Lake Shirley. Roger loved gardening, crossword puzzles, walking and listening to his beloved Red Sox, but only on the radio! He was also an avid fan of local high school athletics.
He enjoyed spending time at home and traveling with his beloved wife of 57 years, Phyllis (Pulsifer) Stebbins who predeceased him on April 16, 2010. He is survived by his five children, Karen Weeks of Leominster, Susan Bisceglia and her husband Vin of Groton, Lori Bateman and her husband Bill of Leominster, Paula Becker and her husband Ken of Tiverton, Rhode Island, and Roger Stebbins, Jr. and his wife Susan of Boylston. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Roger was predeceased by his only brother, Ronald in 2005. Roger was loved by his family and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

LEOMINSTER — Richard F. Mumford, 62 years old, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2011 after a brief illness, with his loving family by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Kathleen E. (Stodulski) Mumford, his daughters Christine M. Lane and Pamela J. Mumford as well as his granddaughter Madelaine E. Lane, all of Leominster. He is also survived by his mother Virginia (Alderman) Mumford of Massachusetts, his sister Gail Kinnick of Pennsylvania, his brothers Robert Mumford of Washington, DC, James Mumford of Massachusetts and Steven Mumford of Wisconsin, as well as several extended family and friends.
Known to his family as "Papa", Richard most enjoyed being with "his girls", especially summers spent at the beach and Saturday morning coffee at Panera Bread. Richard took great pride in his family and will surely be missed by many, especially his 2 puppy family members, Sadie and Mia, whom you would find by his side every day.
Richard was born in North Adams on May 14, 1949, son of Richard F. and Virginia (Alderman) Mumford, Jr. who passed away in 1999. Richard lived in Leominster for the past 26 years, a loving and supportive husband to Kathleen and adoring father and grandfather. He graduated from Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown and received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Richard worked as a Quality Control Engineer at the former Digital Equipment Corp. for 20 years before retiring in 1999. At the time of his death, he worked at ASAP Courier Service in Lunenburg. Richard was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Church in Leominster.

GARDNER — James T. “JT” Legere, 44, of Gardner, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, at UMass Medical Center in Worcester on the 26th of Dec, after a short illness.
JT was born on March 6, 1967 in Shirley, MA to Ruth A. (Melanson) and Robert C. Legere, both of Fitchburg. A graduate of Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School, he was employed at American Auto Body in Leominster.
JT enjoyed skateboarding, cycling, kayaking, snowboarding and other outdoor activities with family and friends. An observant man of few words, he had a quirky sense of humor, and could always be counted on for a fresh perspective. He was an avid reader, and also enjoyed writing poetry, painting and sculpting in metal. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Gardner MA. JT was a supportive husband and father who adored his children and took pride in his family. A reliable friend who could always be counted on to lend a hand, he will be dearly missed.
JT is survived by his wife and best friend of 24 years, Margaret C. Shepardson-Legere; his children Jonathan A., Sasha E. and Anna M. Shepardson-Legere; siblings Robert C. Legere Jr. of Templeton, MA; Lucinda A. Houck of Lincoln, RI; Susan J. Neal of Odenton, MD; Leila A. Legere of Gardner, MA, Wayne C. LEOMINSTER — Etheline E. (Lunn) McGee, 90 years old, of Leominster, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the Highlands in Fitchburg with family by her side. She is survived by her daughters Patricia A. Gendron and her husband Burt of Westminster and Kathleen A. McGee of Illinois, sons Robert G. McGee, Jr. and his wife MaryAnn of Gardner and Lawrence M. McGee and his wife Jo-Ann of Leominster, sister Doris B. Pauli of Brunswick, Ohio, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Robert G. McGee, Sr. in 1999. She was also predeceased by her brothers Raymond, Frederick, Gleason and Arthur Lunn.
Etheline was born in New Brunswick, Canada on April 15, 1921, daughter of Samson and Hattie (Maynard) Lunn and had lived in Leominster for almost 60 years. She and her husband graduated from Lowell High School in 1939. She had worked at the former Foster Grant Co. in Leominster, before retiring in 1963. She was a member St. Leo’s Church in Leominster, the Fortnightly Club, Westminster Country Club, Oak Hill Country Club, Grandview Country Club, Worcester County Women’s Golf Association and the Massachusetts Women’s Golf Association.
Etheline loved the game of golf, playing BINGO, and visiting Foxwoods. She was an accomplished seamstress and knitter who enjoyed making clothes and crafts for herself and her children. Although her skills in the kitchen were somewhat limited to the meat and potatoes dinners appreciated by her husband, she never refused a breakfast, luncheon or dinner date with friends or family. Many thanks go out from the family to Teresa Flinkstrom for her care and comfort to Etheline as well as the kindness of the third floor staff of the Highlands. She will greatly missed by her family and friends.

LEOMINSTER — John R. Teske, 88 years old, of Leominster, died Friday December 23, 2011 at the Highlands in Fitchburg. He is survived by 3 sisters and a brother all of Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Rose (Montagna) Teske in 1996 and by two brothers.
John was born on June 29, 1923 in Duluth, MN, son of George and Martha (Fisher) Teske and had lived in Leominster for 50 years. He entered the U.S. Army in 1943 and was in the OSS while serving in the China-Burma-India Theater during World War II. John was assigned to the Army Security Agency and served in the Far East during the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and various other awards during his 21 years of military service. John then worked for 14 years in the plant engineering department at Digital Corp, retiring in 1981.
John was a life member of the Leominster Lodge of Elks and the Franco American War Veterans. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree.

STERLING — Paul N. Doyon, 83 years old, of Sterling, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in his home after an illness. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Lorraine O. (Kullmann) Doyon, sisters Yvette Ray and Lucille Connor both of West Melbourne, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ernest "Tilou" Doyon in 2006.
Paul was born on October 2, 1928 in Leominster, son of Philip and Beatrice (Comeau) Doyon and had lived in Sterling for over 40 years. He graduated from St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School in Fitchburg and served in the U.S. Army for 22 years, retiring in 1970. He was a Korean and Vietnam War Veteran. Paul then worked for 20 years for the U.S. Postal Service at the Post Office in Leominster. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Leominster.

Joan was born in Gardner on January 2, 1936, daughter of Clive and Gertrude (Barry) Hamlet and had lived in Leominster for over 40 years. She attended the Clarke School in North Hampton and then the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, CT. She also took classes at Athol High School. Joan had worked at Bushong Studio in Athol, L.S. Starrett Company in Athol and was a home health aide for 12 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed gardening, interior decorating and shopping.

LEOMINSTER — Raymond Holland, Sr., 77 years old, of Leominster, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 in his home after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty E. (White) Holland, son Raymond Holland, Jr. and his wife Starr of Leominster, sister Eileen Pauley of Gambrills, MD, 4 grandchildren Sumalee, Brandon, Amanda and Jessie. He was predeceased by his son Henry C. Holland, brothers Paul, Merle, Harry and Francis, and by his sister Helen.
Ray was born in Clinton on August 6, 1934, son of Henry F. and Mildred (Mitton) Holland and had lived in Leominster most of his life. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1952. He had been a plant engineer at Gotham Industries in Fitchburg, Gotham Chicago Corp. and Bee Plastics in Fitchburg. Ray was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fitchburg, the Wilder Lodge of Masons, a former president of the Fitchburg/Leominster Shrine Club, a longtime member of the Society of Plastics Engineers and was a member of a daily coffee group at McDonald’s. He was an avid golfer and sports fan. He was also an enthusiastic gardener.

LEOMINSTER — E. Ruth (Rogers) Buss, 89 years old, of Leominster and formerly of Westminster, passed away in her home on Monday, December 12, 2011.
Ruth is survived by her four children, Marjorie Koone of Clinton, AR, Virginia (Ken) Weaver of Danville, CA, Stephen Buss of Leominster, MA, Kathryn Buss of Hudson, MI, grandchildren Jeff Johnson, Karen Dodge, Greg Johnson, Andy Koone, Scott Koone, Amy Koone, Alyssa Serafini, Sarah Gates, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years William S. Buss on May 6, 2011. She was also predeceased by her brothers Norman Rogers and Edwin Rogers, and her sister Laurena Connolly.
Ruth was born in Leominster on March 11, 1922, the daughter of Carl B. and Gladys (Chapman) Rogers and had lived here most of his life. She was a graduate of Leominster High School. She was a member of the Wachusett Grange, Leominster Homemakers Club, and the Rebekah’s. She enjoyed playing bridge. Ruth and her husband Bill enjoyed many years traveling with friends to Florida. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.

LEOMINSTER — Laurena M. (Rogers) Connolly, 93 years old, formerly of Leominster, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 in the Belmont Manor Nursing Center in Belmont. She is survived by her daughters Patricia Cavallino and her husband Robert of Winnetka, IL, and Ellen Balmer and her husband Richard of Lexington, her son Thomas Connolly and his wife Sharon of Lansdale, PA, her grandchildren John Cavallino, Peter Cavallino, Sarah McMahon and her husband Timothy, Daniel Connolly, Emily Connolly, John Balmer and Spencer Balmer, her great grandchildren Bobby McMahon and Paloma McMahon, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Norman J. Connolly and her brothers Norman Rogers and Edwin Rogers. Her sister E. Ruth Buss died the day after her on December 12, 2011.
Mrs. Connolly was born in Leominster, on September 15, 1918, daughter of Carl and Gladys (Chapman) Rogers and had lived in Leominster until 2005. She graduated from Leominster High School and was the treasurer of her class. She had worked in the cafeteria at Northwest School in Leominster for several years. Laurena was a former member of the Leominster Historical Society and the #6 Community Center in Leominster.
Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Leominster Historical Society, 17 School Street, Leominster, MA 01453 or to a charity of the donor’s choice. The Silas F. WESTMINSTER — Linda R. (Peterson) Fahey, 62 years old, of Westminster, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She is survived by her husband, who has been the love of her life for 44 years Lawrence M. Fahey, sons Lawrence W. Fahey and his wife Nicole of Leominster and Russell L. Fahey and his wife Christine of Ashburnham, daughters Jill M. McDowell and her husband David of Leominster and Karen L. Kane and her husband Jeffrey of Greensboro, NC, Linda was a loving "Grammy" and will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren, Jacob, Michael, Benjamin, Larry, Brandon, Kyleigh, Kathleen and Lauren. Linda also leaves behind brothers Kenneth Peterson of Illinois and Richard Peterson of Arizona, sisters Helen Wadsworth of Connecticut and Jean Stowell of Hubbardston, and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was born in Roslindale on January 20, 1949, daughter of Edmund and Elizabeth (Dolle) Peterson and had lived in Leominster, before moving to Westminster 6 years ago. She had been a barber at Mina’s Style Shop in Fitchburg. Linda was a member of the Congregational Church of Christ in North Leominster.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Congregational Church of Christ, 583 Main Street, North Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster.
