Margie J. (Tobi) Anderson, 89, of Leominster, passed away on March 16, 2024. She was born in Fitchburg on April 25, 1934, the daughter of Charles and Clara (Adler) Anderson.

Tobi attended Fitchburg schools and participated in many local talent shows prior to her enlistment in the U.S. Navy “WAVES” in February 1953. She traveled throughout the U.S, Bermuda, Hawaii and Puerto Rico performing her comedy and lip sync shows at military bases and was a guest on the Ed Sullivan show. Tobi was honorably discharged in February 1957, and returned to Massachusetts.

She loved making people laugh and cared deeply for others. She enjoyed entertaining people, tole painting, making jewelry, eating out and sharing time with her friends.

Tobi is survived by her brother Ralph Anderson of Gardner, nephews Thomas Anderson of Winchendon; Robert Anderson and wife Renee of Leominster; Douglas Anderson and wife Colleen of Winchendon; John Anderson and wife Lyn of Hooksett, NH; nieces Carol Anderson and husband Tobias, of Cambridge, MA; Kristen Anderson of Marshfield; Suzan Couch and husband Ken of Winchendon; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces.

She was predeceased by her four brothers, Charles “Bud” Anderson, Richard Anderson, Donald Anderson, Burleigh Anderson, and by her nephew, Richard Anderson.

A memorial service with military honors will be held on April 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon, MA. A private family gathering will follow.
