Brian James Sweeney

LEOMINSTER----Brian James Sweeney, 58 years old, of Leominster passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 22, 2017.

Brian was born March 15, 1959 in Leominster, son of the late James Francis Sweeney and Teresa C. (White) Sweeney and lived in the Fitchburg/Leominster area during his lifetime. He was a 1977 graduate of Leominster High School. He attended Quinsigamond Community College and Fitchburg State College. Brian was employed as a Corrections Officer at MCI Shirley for 20 years before retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Leominster Eagles.

He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Sweeney and former wife, Nancy Thomas of Fitchburg; his sister, Joanne Sweeney and her husband Robert Welch of Newburyport; his nephew Conor Welch and niece Maura Welch.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 11 am at St. Leo's Church, 128 Main Street, Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. There are no calling hours.
