PHILLIPSTON--- Dean Andrew Dombrowik, 79, of Phillipston, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Sheila (Spencer) Dombrowik; his sons Eric M. Dombrowik of Freeport, ME; Christopher A. Moffat and his wife Doreen of Stratford, CT, and David S. Moffat and his wife Kristin of Lunenburg; 2 sisters Jane Pelletier of Lunenburg and Barbara Ducharme and her husband Charles of Leominster; 2 brothers Frederick Dombrowik of Leominster and Bruce Dombrowik and his wife Angela of Holden; 6 beloved grandchildren Amelia Jane, Spencer William Jude, Hannah Christina, Peter Andrew, Molly Paige and Cole Maren Doherty Moffat, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son David Andrew Dombrowik in May of 1984.

Dean was born January 7, 1939, in Leominster, son of Lucien A. and Catherine T. (Cahill) Dombrowik. Dean and Sheila lived in Westminster for 26 years, before building their dream log home on land that meant so much to him in Phillipston 18 years ago. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1957, where he was an outstanding football player. He graduated from the New England School of Art in 1960 and went on to be a graphic designer for Independent Lock Company. Later he became a print manager at Digital Equipment Corp for 26 years and then at the New England Business Services in Groton, before retiring in 2002. Dean was a skilled woodworker creating many pieces of beautiful furniture for his home and family. He loved planting and tending his 56 acres in Phillipston. His beloved dogs Brandy and Leah, who have been waiting patiently for him to come play, also predeceased him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 27th from 12-3 pm in the Leominster/Fitchburg Lodge of Elks, 134 North Main Street, Leominster. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leominster High School Art Club c/o Ms. Saben, 24 Church Street, Leominster, MA, 01453.
