LEOMINSTER --- Dorothy M. (Blanchflower) Vivo Amore, 95 years old of Leominster, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at home.
Dorothy was born June 25, 1922 in Clinton MA, the daughter of James and Helen (Clark) Blanchflower. She leaves 2 sons, David J. DeCarolis and his wife Judith of Dennis, and Robin J. DeCarolis of Leominster, her daughter Debra A. Robins of Leominster, 3 step daughters, Joan Franklin of Leominster, Nancy Curtis and her husband Bill of Ashburnham and Clara Mullin and her husband Bernard of Leominster, 4 grandchildren, David DeCarolis and his wife Donna, Amy Miller and her husband Jim, Abe Robins and Vincent Caisse, 7 great-grandchildren, Ryan DeCarolis, Kevin Miller, Bailey Miller, Katrina Caisse, Jack Caisse, Charley Robins and Frank Robins, her brother Robert Blanchflower of Leominster and sister Nancy Keane of Fitchburg. She was predeceased by her 1st husband, John “Benji” DeCarolis, her 2nd husband, Armando D. “Fatty” Vivo Amore in 1993, and by 2 sisters, Virginia (Dellechaie) Yeager and Elizabeth “Betty” Heniques, and 2 brothers, Richard and Donald Blanchflower.
Dorothy was the owner of Debbie’s Coffee Shop on North Main St. in Leominster. She was a member of Monoosnock Country Club for 45 years. She won numerous ladies golf titles, and won her last title at the age of 70. She also played in the State Womens Golf Association Tournaments. She was an avid football fan, and rooted for all New England Sports teams. She loved to cook and entertain her friends and family, Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday, and visiting the DeCarolis Family Christmas Party was always a highlight. She also enjoyed embroidering, giving many of her items away as gifts.
Funeral services and burial are private. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.
