LEOMINSTER--Francis S. Roberto, 83 years old, of Leominster, formerly of Westminster, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in the Lifecare Center of Leominster. He is survived by his 2 daughters Karen McGuirk and her husband Bernard of Winchendon and Laura Roberto of Worcester, son Douglas Roberto of Leominster, brother Ernest Roberto of Leominster, 3 sisters Judy Bowen of North Carolina, Bettina “Betty” Schofield of Leominster and Sylvia Sicuro of Leominster, 2 grandchildren Connor McGuirk and Aidan McGuirk, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mary L. (Tofferi) Roberto in 2013, a brother Alphonse Roberto and 2 sisters Ann Roberto and Virginia Desaulnier.
Francis was born June 30, 1933 in Leominster, son of Frank and Matilda (Capasso) Roberto and had lived in Westminster for many years. He graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg and was a U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran. Francis had worked as an Engineering Technician at Digital Equipment Corp for over 30 years. He was a licensed pilot and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11 am in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. Burial with military honors will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Leominster. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 10 - 11 am in the funeral home.
