Gail D. (Hebert) Newton

LEOMINSTER---Gail D. (Hebert) Newton, 80 years old, of Leominster died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Sterling Village. She is survived by daughter Robin M. Morand and her husband Stephen of Gilford, NH; 2 sons Kenneth D. Newton and his wife Joan of Leominster and Richard C. Newton and his wife Lily of Leominster; 5 grandchildren Joshua Newton and his wife Elizabeth, Jayson Newton, Katelynn Newton, Autumn Newton and Zachary Newton; 2 great grandsons Cameron Newton and Dallas Newton; step grandchildren, including Matthew Bartlett and step great grandchildren, including Scarlett Bartlett. Gail was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Kenneth W. Newton in 2017. She was also predeceased by her brother William Hebert and sister Gertrude Derosier.

Gail was born in Leominster on August 16, 1938, daughter of Willie and Vivian (Wood) Hebert and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg and was a former member of Holy Family of Nazareth Church in Leominster.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at Sterling Village Nursing Home for all their extraordinarily compassionate and professional care that Gail received during her stay there. Gail felt so comfortable and cared for that it felt like home to her, and she developed close, loving relationships with all those she met there.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 27^th at 11 am in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. A calling hour will be held on Thursday morning prior to the service from 10 - 11 am in the funeral home.
