Jacqueline (Jackie) Hastings Castagnetti

Leominster- Jacqueline (Jackie) Hastings Castagnetti, 78 years old, passed away peacefully with her beloved sister, Elaine Hastings Bartlett, by her side on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Leominster Hospital after an illness.

Jacqueline was born in Holden, Ma. on January 11, 1940. The daughter of Elmer F. and Bertha M. (Hitchcock) Hastings; Jackie resided in Sterling Ma. for many years. She will be missed by all she leaves behind. She leaves behind three daughters, Tammy Tod and her husband Tom of Rutland, Ma.; Brenda Gallerane and her husband Mark of Barre, Ma.; Julie Stuart and her husband John of Huntersville, North Carolina. As well as five Grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also, she leaves behind a brother Roland Douglas of South Carolina and a sister whom she spent her time with Elaine Hastings Bartlett and her husband Roger of West Townsend, Ma. along with several nieces and nephews.

Jackie was predeceased by her late husband Richard Castagnetti, her three brothers, Robert Hastings, Kenneth Hastings, and Elmer Hastings and also her sister Marion Woodcock.

Jackie enjoyed spending time with her sister, Elaine, going out to restaurants, attending family gatherings and mostly, nightly phone calls that would last for hours. Jackie also loved to watch The Boston Red Sox, The Voice along with Dancing With The Stars so she could be sure to cast her vote. She loved listening to Country music with Blake Shelton being her favorite artist. Her love for cats she displayed all around in her surroundings and with her accessories. Most of all Jackie loved desserts! If there were any desserts leftover, she would put them in her pocketbook for her enjoyment later. In her earlier years she loved to knit; she made numerous sweaters for the babies when they were born.

She will be deeply missed.

Services will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Clinton Street in Sterling, Ma. at 11 am on Thursday October 18, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Sterling Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, Ma. 01564.
