FITCHBURG --- Jean I. McAskill, 95 years old of Fitchburg, died Friday, February 16, 2018 in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital .
Jean was born January 20,1923 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada, the daughter of John and Maria (Babcock) McAskill. She leaves and several nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grand nieces, whom she loved dearly, and many loving cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Ruth E. Daoust and her brother Kenneth R. McAskill.
Jean grew up in the Fitchburg/Leominster area. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1942, and worked as a nurses aide at Leominster Hospital and Burbank Hospital. She was a member of Rollstone Congregational Church in Fitchburg and Hobbie Crafters in Leominster.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on the 4th floor at the Highlands in Fitchburg, and the nurses and staff in the Leominster Hospital ER and Intensive Care Unit for the wonderful care and treatment given Jean.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 1pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home 106 West St. Leominster. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Leominster. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 12pm - 1 pm.
