John M. Landry

LEOMINSTER --- John “Jack” M. Landry, 70 years old of Leominster, died Friday, June 7, 2019 in UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, Worcester.

John was born in Gardner, MA on July 31, 1948, the son of Arthur and Grace (Myntti) Landry. John joined the Marine Corps in 1966 and served honorably for three years, including two tours in Vietnam. After serving in the military, he worked as a truck driver until retirement, enjoyed many creative hobbies such as writing, painting and photography, and loved thinking up new business ideas.

John was generous, kind and loving, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to tell stories and ridiculous jokes, and always knew how to say the right thing at the right time. He loved Jesus with all his heart, loved serving the church, and had a true prophetic calling.

John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth A. (Penzinski) Landry, his daughter, Sarah J. (Landry) Shields and son-in-law Corey Shields, grandchildren Naomi and Donovan of Leominster; his mother, Grace (Myntti) Landry of Gardner; his sister, Jeanne Landry of Ashburnham; two brothers, David Landry of North Carolina and Douglas Landry of Gardner; his grandchildren Daniel Landry, Scott Landry, and Jordan Landry of Oklahoma, and Johnathan Landry and his wife Shaylee (Bookout) Landry of North Carolina. He is predeceased by his father, Arthur E. Landry of Gardner; a son, James M. Landry of Oklahoma; and brothers Daniel Landry and Jeffrey Landry.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 14th from 10 am ~ 12 pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St. Leominster. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
