LEOMINSTER---Joseph J. DiGeronimo, 90 years old of Leominster, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Margaret H. (Dolan) DiGeronimo; 2 daughters Joanne Migliaro and her husband Anthony of Naples, FL and Patricia Flynn and her husband Robert of Foxboro; 3 grandchildren Christian Flynn of Virginia, Matthew Flynn and Meagan Flynn both of Foxboro; brother-in-law John Dolan and his wife Marilyn of Leominster; 2 nephews Fr. Joseph Dolan of Fitchburg and Thomas Dolan of Natick; and 3 grand dogs Boomer, Mia and Remy. Joseph was predeceased by a sister and 2 brothers.

Joseph was born in Leominster on March 21, 1928, son of Louis and Anna (Chiauzzi) DiGeronimo and was a life long resident. Well known as Joe Di, he was a 1945 graduate from Leominster High School and attended a post graduate year at Worcester Academy. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Boston University and used his education as part owner and Senior Vice President of the former Victory Super Markets. Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran for WWII in the Occupation Army stationed in Japan. He was a member of St. Anna Parish, the Knights of Columbus in Leominster, and the Leominster/Fitchburg Lodge of Elks. Joe Di was an avid golfer, a frequent traveler to Florida, and enjoyed doing word search puzzles, solitaire, and watching classic television shows. Recently, Emmanuel College dedicated a new convenience store to Joe in celebration of his 90th birthday. His legacy lives on with Joe Di’s Food Mart.
