Marjorie J. (Wood) Houde

LEOMINSTER --- Marjorie J. (Wood) Houde, 85 Years old of Leominster, died Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.

Marjorie was born November 25, 1932 in Leominster the daughter of Albert A. Wood and Gladys A. (Morhous) Wood, and was a lifelong Leominster resident. She leaves her son Albert "Punky" E. Houde Jr. and his significant other Cathy of Leominster, her daughter Brenda S. Ricker and husband Chester of Leominster, 4 grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Heather of North Carolina, Derek and his wife Lisa of Worcester, Scott and his wife Shannon of Leominster, Jennifer and her wife Erica of Leominster, along with 2 great-grandchildren, Maddilyn and Amanda, and many nephews and nieces.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Albert E. Houde Sr. in 2007, and by 2 sisters, Nellie Myer and Esther Wood.

Marjorie graduated from Leominster High School- Class of 1950, and the Burbank Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Modern Steam Laundry, the family business, before beginning a career as an LPN at Burbank Hospital for 35 years. She was a member of St. Leo’s Church in Leominster, AMVETS Auxiliary, the Emblem Club and the American Canadian Association, she was also an AVON representative in the area for many years. She enjoyed going to her camp on Lake Shirley, sailing, ballroom dancing, roller skating and attending family events.

Marjorie’s funeral will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home 106 West St. Leominster, with a 12:30 pm funeral mass in St. Leo’s Church, 128 Main St. Leominster, Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Leominster. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5 pm-7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Rd. Worcester MA. 01602.
