Nancy Myers Obituary

LEOMINSTER – Nancy Jane (Hedge) Myers, 81, passed away February 23, 2018 in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital.

Nancy was born in New London, Connecticut, September 16, 1936, a daughter of the late John Campbell Hedge and Helen (Gruye) Hedge. Nancy attended Jr. College in New London, CT and was employed as a Secretary/Administrator for John Hancock Insurance Company.

Nancy resided in Leominster since 1989 and was a long time resident of Life Care Center in Leominster. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leominster since 1989 and served in the Food and Clothes Ministry. She was a volunteer at the former Burbank and Leominster Hospitals and other agencies. Nancy had many areas of interest and was faithful in sending packages and cards to those serving in the armed forces. One of her hand written notes read, “We do know that freedom is not free; and pray the Lord hold you and uphold you , all of you, by his Mighty Right Hand. “ Nancy also did beautiful needlepoint work and was an avid reader of local and community events.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Rader and her husband, Daniel of Ohio; her son, Collin Myers of California; two brothers: Edmund Hedge from Texas and Charles Hedge from Connecticut; two sisters: Sandra Casimono from Connecticut and Helene Schott from Massachusetts; and five grandchildren: Daniel, Alexandria and Julianna Rader and Aimee and Gavin Myers and 2 great-grandchildren: Teeghan and Adalyn Rader. Her brother, Robert Hedge predeceased her.

The family wishes to thank Life Care Center of Leominster for their compassionate care.
