LEOMINSTER---Peter Charles Powell, 81 years old, of Leominster, died June 7, 2018 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital, surrounded by his family He is survived by 2 sons Steven P. Powell and his wife Megan of Leominster and Glen V. Powell and his wife Heather of Gardner, a daughter Lisa M. Gordon and her husband Scott of Leominster, a sister Sue Giurleo and her husband Jack of Bedford , 5 grandchildren Wyatt, Georgia, Connor, Collin and Ethan, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Betsy (Hautanen) Powell in 1977.
Peter was born in Worcester on July 26, 1936, son of Henry B. and Emily (Evans) Powell. He had worked at his family business Vogue Wallcovering in Fitchburg for over 45 years. Peter enjoyed playing tennis and was an avid New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics Fan.
Peter’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 13th from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a Mass at 11 am. in St. Leo’s Church, 128 Main Street, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 12th from 5-7 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a Breast Cancer Fund of the donor’s choice.
