LEOMINSTER---Roland A. Masse, 88 years old, of Leominster, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Sterling Village. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Norma M. (Lanteigne) Masse; son Ronald Masse of Gardner; daughter Carol Masse of Florida; stepson Anthony D’Innocenzo and his wife Nikki of Youngsville, NC; stepdaughters Donna Dinsmore and her husband Michael of Templeton and Julie Jennings of Gardner; 3 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Linda Masse and sisters Theresa Jordan and Rita Vallenti.

Roland was born May 8, 1930, in Pawtucket, RI, son of Roland and Domithilde (Fleurent) Masse and had lived in the Leominster/Fitchburg area for many years. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He had owned and operated the former Roland’s Diner on River Street in Fitchburg and later in life he was a parking enforcement officer for the City of Leominster. Roland loved to play golf, enjoyed playing cards, and trips to the casino. He was a fan of all New England sports and was his grandson’s biggest fan at all his athletic games.

Roland’s family would like thank the Sterling Village staff for the loving care that was given Roland during his stay there.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 19th at 10 am in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
