W. Gordon Graham

LEOMINSTER----W. Gordon Graham, 89 years old of Leominster, died Friday, September 30, 2016 in Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer. He is survived by his son Stephen W. Graham and his partner Joe Giamalva of Walnut Creek, CA, daughter Beth G. Vautour and her husband Ulysses of Leominster, longtime companion Dorothy MacPherson of Leominster, grandchildren Jason Graham of Fitchburg, Jarrod Graham and his wife Angela of Cape Coral, FL, Alfred Graham of Encino, CA, Jessica Jalbert of Westminster and Gary Verder, II and his wife Brandie of Naples, FL, great grandchildren Kashlyn Graham, Ethan Graham, Zachary Kavanagh, Avery Kavanagh, Hannah Kavanagh, Patrick Kavanagh, Patricia Verder, Christian Jalbert, Jayden Jalbert and Elliott Jalbert, cousins Moira Keddie and Christine Wylie both of Scotland. He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years A. Louise (Waisanen) Graham on May 13, 1997.

Gordon was born May 21, 1927 in Leominster, son of Oliver K. and Jessie (Murray) Graham and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1945 and attended Worcester Trade. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve during World War II. Gordon was a mechanical engineer assistant at the former Digital Corp for 30 years before retiring in 1990. After retiring he worked part-time at the Fitchburg Art Museum. Gordon was a member of the Wilder Lodge of Masons, Aleppo Shriners, the Fitchburg/Leominster Shrine Club and Pilgrim Congregational Church, where he was a former member of the Board of Trustees and Sunday School Superintendent. He attended the Congregational Church of Christ in North Leominster several years ago. Gordon was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox Fan and was a loyal fan of the Leominster High School Football Team.

Gordon’s funeral service will be held on Monday, October 3rd at 10 am in the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 26 West Street, Leominster. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery will be at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 2nd from 2-4 pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Pilgrim Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 26 West Street, Leominster, MA 01453 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
