William A. Coe, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, died on Friday, June 30 at age 68, after a lengthy illness. He is preceded in death by his parents Jacques Coe, Jr. and Sylvia W. Coe, and survived by his life partner, Sandra Snell of Leominster, Massachusetts, his sister, Liz Coe, of Los Angeles, California, his brothers James Coe (Karen Scharff), of Hannacroix, New York, and David Coe (Nancy Berner), of Sewanee, Tennessee, his nieces, Sarah Coe-Odess, Rachel Coe-Scharff, Alexis Berner-Coe, and Erin Berner-Coe, and his nephews, Matthew Coe-Odess and Jonah Coe-Scharff.
Born in New York City on October 11, 1948, and raised in Larchmont, New York, Bill graduated from Mamaroneck High School and received a B.A. from Tufts University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He received his Master’s in English from Boston College, and a teaching certificate from the same institution. He taught in the Acton, Massachusetts school system before moving on to a career in technical writing for several top tech firms in the Boston area. In addition to being a devoted friend and partner, a beloved sibling, and a doting uncle, he was a talented musician, a lover of nature, a dedicated birdwatcher, and a passionate Red Sox fan.
A memorial service will be held on a date to be determined.
