Natalie was born in Concord, MA on August 4, 1934, daughter of Leon and Marian (Howard) Whitney and had lived in Leominster most of her life. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1952 and from Fitchburg State Teachers College. Natalie taught elementary school in Sterling and later substituted in the Leominster school system. She was a longtime member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Leominster and served on many of the church’s boards and committees, where all who met her knew her to be kind and welcoming.Notably, Natalie founded the Church's Rainbow Ringers, a bell choir that invited all to join and play music, regardless of skill or experience.
