BENNINGTON, OK-----John “Jack” A. McNamara, 87 years old, of Bennington, OK, formerly of Leominster, died Friday, June 15, 2018. He is survived by his wife Diane Lynn (Johnson) McNamara; sister Patricia Donoghue of South Carolina; daughters Paula Packard of Ashby and Sharon Collins and her husband Bob of Holden; sons Phillip McNamara of North Carolina, John McNamara of Shrewsbury, Arthur McNamara of Florida, Fran McNamara and his wife Debbie of New Hampshire and Ken McNamara and his wife Lisa of Lunenburg; stepdaughter Karen Courville and her husband Jeremy of Louisiana; stepson Kevin Lavoie of Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Dave Raphael of West Boylston; 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Edward McNamara, William McNamara, and Charles McNamara; and sisters Eleanor Rand, Ann LaMarche and Eileen Schaeffer.

Jack was born in Worcester on October 8, 1930, son of William E. and Ella M. (End) McNamara and had lived in Texas and Oklahoma for the past several years. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Jack was a plumber by trade and had worked at the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant. As a youngster he had worked at his family owned Central Street Diner in Leominster. He was a jack of all trades and his favorite meal was “Breffis” with his family. He and his wife had relocated to Texas and Oklahoma to be close to Morgan Horse Shows.

Jack’s funeral service will be held on Monday, June 25th from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a mass at 10 am in St. Leo’s Church, 128 Main Street, Leominster. Burial with military honors will be in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 24th from 3-6 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Vincent De Paul, 108 Main Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
