LEOMINSTER ---John “Jack” B. LaClair, 85 years old, of Leominster, died Friday, October 12, 2018 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital. He is survived by his daughter Shelly Iacobone and her husband Richard of Leominster; three sons, Randy J. LaClair and his wife Susan, Ricky J. LaClair and his wife Karol, and Jeffrey J. LaClair all of Leominster, 6 grandchildren, Adam Iacobone, Justin LaClair, John LaClair, Josh LaClair, Alicia LaClair, and Kody LaClair, nephews, nieces and grand dogs. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years Janet B. (Sicard) LaClair, brother William LaClair and sister Marguerite “Peg” Brown.

Jack was born August 23, 1933 in Attleboro, son of Eugene O. and Anna L. (Fisette) LaClair and moved to Leominster at an early age. His mother passed away when he was very young, leading his father into marriage with Marie C. (Gilardi) Caduto who accepted and loved him and his brother Billy as they were her own. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1951 and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a route salesman at Wonder Bread for 28 years, then worked as a custodian for the Leominster School Department, and finally at HP in Andover. Jack was a member of St. Anna Parish, coached his boys in Little League and youth hockey in Leominster. He enjoyed watching all New England sports, going to flea markets, antiquing, playing cards, trivial pursuit and dancing - always accompanied by his wife, Janet. Jack wrote poetry, loved crossword puzzles, and was a talented artist leaving behind many pieces of his work for his family to forever cherish. He loved the city of Leominster. In recent years he loved his daily morning coffee spent at Fatboy’s and Mario’s; his afternoon coffee at Dunkin Donuts on Main Street. He will forever be remembered for his wit and comedic genius.

Jack’s funeral will be held on Friday, October 19th from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St. Leominster, with a 11 am mass in St. Anna Parish, 194 Lancaster St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 18th from 5-7 pm in the funeral home.
