With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ana Amparo Abreu Fernandez, who entered eternal rest on March 16, 2026, at the age of 91, in her home in Leominster, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family.
Ana was born on October 30, 1934 in La Rosa, La Vega, Dominican Republic, where she was raised and built the foundation of the strong, resilient woman so many came to know and love. She carried her roots with pride throughout her life, sharing her culture, warmth, and wisdom with everyone around her.
A gifted seamstress, Ana was known for her skilled hands and creative spirit. She found joy in the simple, meaningful moments; cooking meals filled with love, dancing with happiness, playing dominoes, and opening her home and heart to anyone in need. Her door was always open, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of belonging to all who knew her.
Ana was the definition of strength, compassion, and unwavering love. Her faith in God was the center of her life, guiding her through every challenge and blessing. She loved deeply and selflessly, especially when it came to her grandchildren, whom she cherished as her own children. Her legacy is one of devotion, kindness, and enduring faith.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Clara Veloz-Ortega, Ramon Estrella, and Salvador Estrella; her cherished grandchildren, Hugo Nunez, Emmanuel Nunez, Lilyana Nunez, Gabriel Estrella, Jael Estrella, Aaron Estrella, Rachel Estrella, Anthony Estrella, Adonais Estrella, Michael Estrella; her great grandchildren, Caspian Nunez, Nahla Nunez, Alara Nunez, Leslie Estrella, Raylin Estrella, Rachelle Estrella; her dear siblings, Bienvenido Abreu, Amalia Abreu and another 16 siblings that have passed away; her son and daughter in law Wilson Ortega and Candida Collado. She leaves behind a family rooted in love because of her.
Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing she is now resting in the presence of the Lord, reunited with eternal love and peace. Her memory will live on in every meal shared, every laugh heard, and every act of kindness given in her honor.
Nany, a piece of our hearts went with you the day God called you home. Thank you for loving us so deeply, for holding us so close, and for being the soul of our family. We will miss you more than words can ever express, and we will carry your love with us until we meet again.
Visitation will be held at Richardson Funeral Home on Friday, March 27th from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Anna's Church at 11:00 AM.
Ana will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
