Arnold Baron Obituary

Arnold F. Baron passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, at the age of 86 after a battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Leominster, MA on February 23, 1938. He was a kind, quiet and generous man. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Cecilia’s Church. Arnold was a graduate of St. Cecilia’s Parochial School and Leominster Senior High School, Class of 1956.

Arnold's life was one of dedication and love, qualities most evident in his 64-year marriage to his beloved wife, M. Janet (MacNevin). Together, they built a good life. A family man through and through, Arnold was a proud father to his son, Michael A. Baron. He now joins his son Ricky, who predeceased him in September 1995.

Preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Eva M. (Bouchard) Baron and his siblings, Renda B. Matthews, Claire A. Doherty, Leon A. Baron, and Dennis A. Baron, Arnold's memory will be kept alive by his remaining sister, Phyllis A. DelGiudice, and her husband, James, as well as his brother, Rene E. Baron, and his wife, Maryann. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his many nieces, nephews, and extended family members including, Diane and Joe Tompkins, sons Hunter and Zachary and Laurie Koster and sons Jared and Ryan.

Arnold's professional life was characterized by his hard work and commitment as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Vezina Construction, before moving on to Daniel D’Onfro & Sons Construction for 20 years and ended his career working for the city of Leominster Department of Public Works, Water Department. Colleagues knew Arnold as a man who greeted every task with a smile and who never shied away from lending a helping hand.

Arnold could fix anything and loved working in the yard and tending his flowers and shrubs. He was always searching for a good deal on lime and fertilizer at the local home improvement store. Arnold enjoyed tinkering with household repairs. His interests included making stained glass art, classic car shows, and watching the Red Sox. He enjoyed Friday night dinners at Barber’s Crossing seeing many friends and acquaintances.

Arnold and Janet enjoyed frequent trips to spend time with their son, Michael and relatives in southern California. They also traveled with friends and family to Hawaii, Italy, Sicily, Holland and few trips to Aruba.
