Athena H. (Burns) Tisdale

LEOMINSTER----Athena H. (Burns) Tisdale, 95 years old, of Leominster, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in the Lifecare Center of Leominster. She is survived by her sons Robert Tisdale of Rindge, NH, Loren Tisdale of Leominster and Brad Tisdale of Athol, daughters Cheryl Tourigny of Winchendon, Linda Hembrow of Florida, Deborah Cote of Leominster and Donna Crawley of Leominster, grandchildren Scott Tourigny, Corey Tourigny, Aaron Tourigny, Marnie Salafia, Alyson Cote, Elisha Gray, Lisa Hembrow, Loree Tisdale, Lorene Tisdale, Nathan Tisdale, Tyler Tisdale, Brandon Tisdale, Todd Crawley and Christy Crawley, and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ennis L. Tisdale in 1976 and her sister Welthy A. Valliere in 2013.

Athena was born May 14, 1920 in Leominster, daughter of William F. and Lena (Hildreth) Burns and lived here most of her life. She had worked at the former Renzi Plastic Co. in Leominster and then in the cafeteria at Leominster High School. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Christ in North Leominster. Athena was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox Fan and enjoyed supporting the Pan Mass Challenge.

Athena’s funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11 am in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. A calling hour will be held on Monday, March 7^th prior to the funeral service from 10 -11 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
