Barbara I. (Burke) Lanza

Leominster- Barbara I. (Burke) Lanza, 88, born in Leominster and a lifelong Leominster resident, died Wednesday, July 14, at Life Care of Leominster.

Barbara was born January 13, 1933, daughter of the late Joseph and the late Charlotte (Geslin) Burke. She worked for the former New England Telephone before working for many years as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Edmond Meadows. She and her late husband, Frank enjoyed bus trips to the casino and spending time in Maine.

Her husband of 64 years, Frank J. Lanza, died January 24, 2021. She was also predeceased by her son, Joseph, her daughter, Sandra and two sisters, Eleanor George and Betty Wheaton.

She leaves her daughter, Deborah Parry of Leominster; two granddaughters, Kellyanne Inverso and her husband, Anthony of PA and Sarah Bird and her husband, Mark of NH; one great grandson, Anthony Joseph Inverso; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Life Care Center of Leominster for their devotion to Barbara during her short stay. 

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 20 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Leo’s Cemetery, Lancaster St., Leominster.
