Barbara Raboin Obituary

Barbara Ann (Amadio) Raboin, 86, of Lunenburg, MA, died peacefully on May 24, 2021, after a brief stay at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home.

Barbara was born in Leominster, on July 4, 1934, the fourth of six children of the late Anna Antoinette (Iacoboni) Amadio and Pompeo “Paul” Amadio. During her childhood, Barbara was surrounded by a loving extended family and was often seen working at her father’s business, Paul’s Shoe Store. Barbara was a graduate of Leominster High School. As a young woman, she also worked at the J.J. Newberry’s lunch counter and the dental office of Dr. Sumner Geffen.

Barbara lived a long and beautiful life. She is survived by her husband, Roger Raboin, with whom she enjoyed 66 wonderful years of marriage. Early in their marriage, they lived in Germany where they established lifelong friendships and a love of travel. Together they raised six children, Stephen Raboin and his wife Lou Ann of Lunenburg, Michelle Riley and her husband Dean of Leominster, Eric Raboin and his wife Amy of Lunenburg, Karen O’Brien and her husband John of Charlton, Paul Raboin of Westford, and Julie Willis and her husband Michael of Berlin.

She leaves one brother, Francis Amadio of Bristol, CT, and a sister Jeanne Antonucci and her husband, Robert of West Falmouth. She leaves her 24 grandchildren, Joseph Raboin of Haverhill, Sarah Andrews of Portsmouth, NH, Elisabeth Horesh of Bolton, Jessica Grassis of Lancaster, Leah Riley of Bolton, Avi Meehan of Toronto, Canada, Ryan Meehan of Pittsburgh, PA, Jillian Meehan of Groton, Emma Raboin of West Hartford, CT, Alizah Raboin of Amherst, Joshua and Natalie Garland of Lunenburg, Thomas O’Brien of Natick, Kristen Rhodes of Pelham, Kathryn and Sean O’Brien of Charlton, Arianna Parker of Charlton, Anna, Matthew, Zachary and Robert Raboin of Westford, and Adam, Rebecca and Olivia Willis of Berlin. Barbara will also be remembered by her 16 great-grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by her siblings Mary Pazzanese, Pauline Engell, and Louis Amadio.

Gifted with a remarkable ability to bond with those she met, Barbara would often form lifelong friendships from chance conversations. All who knew her can attest to her heartfelt interest in their lives and well-being. Barbara put her love into action through her dedication and commitment to the Lunenburg Turkey Hill Family Lion’s Club, an organization devoted to helping those in need in the Lunenburg community.
