Beverly Stephens Obituary

Beverly E. (Clifford) Stephens, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at the age of 93 in Shirley, MA. Born on August 21, 1931, in Leominster, MA, Beverly's life was a testament to her faith, love, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Beverly's early years in Leominster laid a strong foundation for a life full of love and music. After marrying the love of her life, Herbert "Buddy" Gage, she embraced the role of a nurturing mother and a supportive partner with grace and devotion. Beverly's family was her pride and joy, including her two sons, Robert Gage and his wife Carol of Shirley, MA, and Brian Gage and his wife JoAnn of Leominster, MA; her two daughters, Barbara Towle of Seattle, WA, and Brenda Hennemann of Gardner, MA; and her half-brother, Richard MacEwan and his wife Carol of Marlboro, MA. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren, Kristy Allen, Richard Hennemann, Jessica Day, Ethan Gage, and Robin Smith, as well as her eight great-grandchildren, Alfred Allen, Karlie Allen, Luke Hennemann, Maximus Hennemann, Sarah Day, Titus Day, Stephen Turilli, and Nicholas Turilli.

Beverly's professional life was marked by 19 years of dedicated service at NEBS, where she was known for her strong work ethic and warm personality. Her love for music was evident through her 31 years as the organist at Trinity Chapel and 9 years at North Leominster Congregational Church of Christ. Beverly's talent and passion for music enriched the lives of her congregation and all who heard her play.

Her involvement in the community extended to the Shirley Headliners, where she performed for several years, bringing joy and entertainment to nursing homes and veterans hospitals. Beverly's commitment to her faith and community was further reflected in her membership at the North Leominster Congregational Church of Christ.

Beverly was also known for her intellectual pursuits. As an avid reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. Her love for crossword and jigsaw puzzles provided not only a challenge but also a way to share quiet moments with family and friends.

Those who knew Beverly would describe her as faith-filled and loving, qualities that illuminated every aspect of her life. Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Beverly now joins in eternal rest her beloved parents, Harold E. Clifford and Sara (Blood) Clifford Speed; her husband, Donald Stephens, who preceded her in death in 2015; and her brother, Maurice Clifford, who passed away in 2020.

Beverly's life was a melody of love, service, and faith that played harmoniously to the very end. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful life she led and the countless memories she leaves behind. Her spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family, friends, and all the lives she touched.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Beverly E. (Clifford) Stephens will be held in loving remembrance for the harmony she brought to our world. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the celestial music she so dearly loved.
