It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Carol Gagnon, a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who could light up a room with her laugh and very colorful language. She passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the age of 83.
Born on January 23, 1941 in Leominster, to her late parents, Olivine (Beaudette) and Edward Sargent, Carol was a longtime resident of Fitchburg. She was married to her late husband, Arthur Gagnon, Sr. for 54 years.
Carol enjoyed spending time with family and her beloved dog, Toby. She was an avid puzzler, enjoyed ceramic painting, and could hold her own in a game of cards, both online and with friends and family. She had a green thumb and a love of growing flowers.
Carol is survived by her children, Darlene Champagne (husband Eugene), Arthur Gagnon, Jr. (wife Lucy), Michael Gagnon and Allen Gagnon (wife Marianne), her 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, her brothers Edward Sargent (wife Rachel) and Raymond Sargent (wife Sue), her sisters Sandy Krukley (husband Barney), Rita Motta, and Donna Jarman, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Norman Sargent.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, April 14, at Townsend Congregational Church Fellowship Hall, 3 Brookline St., Townsend, MA from 2:00 – 4:30 P.M.
