Christine "Chris" Brennan, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on February 3, 1944, Chris grew up in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and graduated from St. Bernard's High School.
She went on to earn her degree from Rivier University and began her career teaching history at Leominster High School, where she met her husband, Robert Brennan. After several years in the classroom, Chris transitioned to a role in customer service at Massachusetts Electric, where she eventually became a supervisor. She later returned to education, a field she loved, and continued working there until her retirement in 2004.
Christine was an active member of the Holy Family of Nazareth Church Guild. When not at church, she could often be found outside doing yard work—an activity she loved and found peaceful.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth DeMille; her son, Paul Brennan, and his wife, Valerie; her grandchildren, Heather, John and his wife, Missy, Krysten, Brian, and Hayden; and her great-grandson, Luke, who brought her immeasurable joy. Christine is also survived by her sister, Jeanne Schwartz, and her husband, Don; her brother, Robert Ethier; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Brennan, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Armand and Gertrude Ethier, and her sister, Anne LaLiberty.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association to support research and efforts to end this devastating disease.
Calling hours will be held in Richardson Funeral Home on Friday, August 1 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.. A funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 P.M. in Holy Family of Nazareth Parish with a burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
