LEOMINSTER - Clevia E. Murphy (Bisceglia), 89 years old, of Leominster died Sunday, April 19th, 2026 at Holy Trinity Rehabilitation Center in Worcester, Massachusetts where she was surrounded by her entire family. She has joined her beloved husband of 54 years, R. David Murphy, who passed in 2011, and leaves her four children, Kathleen Daley and her husband James of Westminster, Linda Murphy of Leominster, Richard D. Murphy, Jr. of Leominster and Daniel Murphy and his wife Paula of Sterling. She also leaves her nine precious grandchildren whom she loved and cherished with all her heart; James and Timothy Daley, Katelyn, Hannah and Isabella Murphy, Amanda DiBara and her husband David, Daniel and Thomas Murphy, along with two great granddaughters; Dakota Arndt and Lucy DiBara. Clevia was predeceased by her three brothers Anthony Bisceglia, Egidio Bisceglia and her twin brother Clement Bisceglia.
Born on June 1, 1936, to Giovanni and Grazia Bisceglia, Clevia was a lifelong resident of Leominster. After graduating from Leominster High School, she served as a Morse Code Operator for Western Union—a career she held until she married and began her most cherished role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Affectionately known as "Nanni," she was the heartbeat of her family, ensuring her grandchildren grew up steeped in the Italian traditions of her San Giovanni Rotondo heritage. From her childhood home on Elm Hill Avenue to her own table on Grant Street, Clevia kept the spirit of the Sunday feast alive. Her life was defined by tables overflowing with food, home-cooked traditions, and a house always filled with love and laughter.
For over 50 years, Clevia spent her summers in Cape Neddick, Maine. Her greatest joy was hosting her grandchildren at “Nanni’s” beach, where she watched her own children pass down the traditions and stories of their youth to the next generation. Beyond the coast, she and her husband traveled the globe together, leaving behind a legacy of worldwide adventures and cherished stories that her family will hold dear forever.
Clevia always had a smile on her face, kind words and compassion for whoever needed it. She was adored by all, with many family friends referring to her as their second mother, calling her “Ma.”
Following Clevia’s two-month stay at Holy Trinity Rehabilitation Center in Worcester, her family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff. We are profoundly grateful for the exceptional care, unwavering devotion, and genuine kindness that provided her—and us—such great comfort.
