Constance R (Holroyd) Richardson

LEOMINSTER----Constance R. (Holroyd) Richardson, 87 years old of Leominster, died Saturday, November 5, 2022 after a brief illness. She was born in Fitchburg, on March 21, 1935, daughter of Franklyn J. and Ruth E. (Bennett) Holroyd, Sr. and graduated from Fitchburg High School. She had lived in Leominster for over 65 years.

Connie had worked at the former Simond Saw and Steel in Fitchburg and, after her girls were grown, she worked for a family friend William “Chicken” DiNardo at Industrial Hardware in Leominster. Connie enjoyed spending her summers in Wells, ME and the winters in Florida. She enjoyed being with her family and especially her grandsons and great granddaughters. Connie also enjoyed going to the casino and out to dinner with her friends.

 Connie is survived by her daughters Debra A. Rooney and her husband, Ernest L. Rooney, of Leominster and Karen Richardson and her husband, Robert C. Tierney, of Warren, VT; three grandsons, Charles E. Rooney and his wife Kelli and their daughter Raegan of Leominster, John W. Rooney of  Boynton Beach, FL and Thomas F. Rooney and his wife Nicole and their daughter Adelyn, of Leominster; a brother Rev. David Holroyd and his wife Snookie of South Berwick, ME; a brother-in-law, David Richardson, and his wife, Bonnie of the Villages, FL; nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by her husband Charles P. Richardson, in 2005 and her daughter, Janice Richardson Wing, in 1997. She was also predeceased by three brothers Franklyn “Bud” Holroyd, Jr., Edward "Butch" Holroyd and Richard Holroyd.

 A private family funeral will be held and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The Richardson Funeral Home in Leominster is assisting the family with arrangements.
