David Kistler Obituary

On Thursday, October 6th, 2022, the Kistler family lost their rock and hero suddenly. David E. Kistler of Leominster passed away at the age of 67 years old.

Dave was born on August 16, 1955, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the son of Edward Kistler and Barbara Conrad (Sandt) and raised by his uncle and aunt, Donald and Barbara Kistler of Westminster, MA. After graduating college, Dave pursued his interest in the high-tech industry, most recently serving as the Chief Information Officer for Charles River Associates in Boston, MA.

Dave’s family was his proudest achievement. He married the love of his life, Paula (Roy). Kistler. They went on to have four children Erin Elizabeth (Dana Orlandino), Jessie Anne (Kelly Sullivan) Erik David (Christina LaSorsa), and Garrett Scott (Grace Davis). He adored having his family home and spending time with them whether it be golfing with his children, playing with the grandchildren, vacationing in Maine with his wife or puttering around the house.

Dave was a master of hobbies including woodworking, leather crafting, and gardening. However, his most notable passion was enjoying the great outdoors with his son and English Setters. He was a strong advocate for wildlife conservation and an active member of the Leominster Sportsmen’s Association serving as the Vice President.

Dave is survived by his wife and 4 children and their spouses; 5 grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart Ava, Ella, Mila, Valentina, and Briella; 1 future Kistler grandson due in April; brother Jeffery Kistler and his beloved dog Sadie Lou.

A visitation for David is planned for Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 9 am to 11am. The visitation will be at the Holy Family of Nazareth on 750 Union St, Leominster MA 01453.  All are invited to attend. The funeral will follow at the church immediately after at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, people wishing to honor Dave’s lifelong commitment to family and community can make donations to the Mass Audubon (massaudubon.org) or Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union St. Leominster MA 01453.
