Debra Dejesus Obituary

Debra (Debbie) J. Dejesus
August 17, 1956 - May 4, 2023

After a brief and sudden illness, Debra J. Dejesus, 66, departed her loving family on Thursday, May 4th, 2023.  She was born in Leominster, MA, daughter of loving parents, David and Lorraine Kenny.

Growing up in the small town of Lunenburg, Debbie was often found with her brothers and sisters, hanging out with neighborhood friends and seeking out adventures (As long as they stayed away from that Whalom Lakefront and were home before the street lights came on!). She might have even been considered a bit of a wild-child, growing up in the 60's and 70's. All of that changed quickly when Debbie had her first child, a son. From that moment she had a single-minded focus on family and loving those near and dear to her fully and unconditionally.

As a young woman, Debbie entered into the work force and tried her hand at various jobs. Given Leominster was considered the birthplace of plastics, it made sense that Debbie found herself a job working at Bee Plastics. It was here where she would eventually meet the love of her life and future husband, Angel. From the start they were inseparable and before long they were married in a small ceremony at her childhood home in Lunenburg. All of their loved ones were in attendance and it was the start of a long and beautiful marriage that would last over 35 years and bear another son, expanding the thing Debbie loved the most, her family.

Debbie and Angel made their home in Leominster, where she began a fulfilling career as a property manager at Heritage Gardens. She thoroughly enjoyed this job as it involved working closely with many people from all walks of life. Those who met and got to know Debbie, couldn't help but like her immediately. She had an infectious smile that lit up the room. She always had nice things to say to everyone she met. Ultimately, she and her family found their way to Amesbury, MA where she was promoted to property manager of Lonvale Gardens Apartments. Here in her spare time, she spent countless hours enjoying the sun and sand at Salisbury Beach, playing skeeball with her grandchildren at Joe's Playland, and enjoying a hot slice of pizza from Tripole Pizza. After a long stint here, Debbie returned home with her family and resided at Leominster Gardens up until her passing.

Debbie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Angel R. Dejesus, her best friend and mother, Lorraine P. Kenny, her father, David L. Kenny and her eldest brothers, Daniel Joseph Kenny and David M. Kenny. She will be eternally loved and remembered by her eldest son, Daniel Kenny and his wife Sherry of Fitchburg, her youngest son, Angel David Dejesus of Lunenburg, as well as her loving sisters, Charlene Kenny of Las Vegas, Lisa Fortune of Shirley and her younger brother Richard Kenny of Lunenburg. Her legacy of love will live on in her 7 grandchildren who will carry on the precious memories of the wonderful times they shared with their beloved Nene.
