Delia Amorosi Obituary

Delia “Del” Amorosi

Lifelong resident of Leominster; 98

LEOMINSTER----Delia “Del” (Dululio) Amorosi of Leominster passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Apple Valley Center after a period of declining health. She was a lifelong resident of Leominster born December 28, 1918 to Emedio and Giuseppina (Micalone) Dululio. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1936. Her husband Alfred “Zeke” Amorosi predeceased her in 2008.

Del was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who often served as a willing caregiver to her extended family who she so cherished. Her selflessness and willingness to put others needs before her own set a beautiful example for children and their families. Cooking Sunday dinners for her family was a favorite tradition that will be fondly remembered. She possessed an abundance of energy and a youthful vitality and appearance that served her well as she grew older. Those she would meet in her later years would be amazed when they would learn her “real age”. Del will always be remembered for her gentle manner and kindness to everyone who knew her.

She leaves her son Dr. Peter Amorosi and his wife Mary of West Yarmouth, daughters Jane Duchesneau and her husband Richard, and Joanne Carignan and her husband Tom of Leominster. She also leaves seven grandchildren Elizabeth Amorosi of New Jersey, David Amorosi of Colorado, Jeffrey Duchesneau of Costa Rica, Jennifer Beaulac, Christopher Carignan, Alex Carignan, and Kate Carignan, all of Leominster; seven great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her older brother, Domenic Dululio and her older sister, Levia Gagnon.

Del’s children would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Leominster Crossing where Del spent several happy years in their care and to the nursing staff at the Apple Valley Center for their compassion during her final days.
