Demetrius Shorts

Demetrius Maliq Shorts, known to family and friends as "Meechie", passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 30.

He was born on August 27, 1995, in Leominster to Erica Shorts. Meechie was a graduate of Fitchburg High School. He was an avid violin player and children's advocate.

He leaves his mother, Erica Shorts; his sister, Desirea Shorts; his brother, Xavier Morin; his grandmother, Rosa Borders Shorts; his aunts, Yvonne Borders and Rochelle Borders; as well as many cousins and extended family. He also leaves his "foster family", Susan and Jim Dorsey and their daughter, Gwen.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 29, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, with a service at 5:00 PM.
