Diane Adair Obituary

Diane Marie Adair, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on March 18th surrounded by her family.

Born in Boston to the late Donald and Lillian (Shack) Adair, she spent her childhood in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston. She was a graduate of Mission Hill High School and a congregant of the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Diane moved to West Roxbury where she worked hard to raise her son, Ronald. Later, she moved to Canton, MA, and worked for the Town of Medfield.

In her retirement, Diane enjoyed spending time with her son and grandchildren. They enjoyed her famous fudge and brownies, and her beautiful crocheted blankets she made for them. She was known for her love of animals, and she always had several adopted pets from area shelters.

Diane leaves her son Ronald and his wife Catherine, and her grandchildren Carmella, George, Francis, Ava and Kateri Adair, all of Ashburnham; her brother Donald and his wife Ann of Charlotte, North Carolina; her niece Carolyn (Jude) Arsenault of Leominster, her nephews Andrew Adair of Plymouth and Michael Adair of North Carolina, and several grand-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her long-term companion, Richard Poznoyz.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Sunrise Living of Leominster for the loving home they provided, and to Assure hospice for their tender and supportive care.

A viewing hour will take place at Richardson’s Funeral Home in Leominster on Monday, March 24th from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Leominster. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donates may be made to the Dementia Society of America, (www.dementiasociety.org) or the MSPCA (www.mspca.org).
