Diane F. (Loter) Bigelow

Diane Frances (Loter) Bigelow passed away in her home on the morning of Monday July 27, 2026, daughter of Ray and Judy Loter. Born March 8, 1958 in Petersboro, NH, she lived in what was known as the “Uncle Sam House” before the family moved to Fitchburg. She attended Fitchburg High School and graduated in 1976. Diane married Mark S. Bigelow on Aug 24, 1980 and was married for 41 years before his passing on Aug 31, 2021. Diane worked for over 40 years at Marshalls in Leominster before retiring in 2023.

She is predeceased by her parents Ray and Judy Loter and brother Mark Loter. She leaves behind her two sons, Steven Bigelow of Hopkinton and daughter in law Taryn and Michael Bigelow of Fitchburg; two grandchildren, Lilah and Joshua; sister Valery Ingemi wife of Peter, nephews Sam and Daniel Ingemi, sister-in-law Wendy Bigelow, and best friends Lisa and Chris Cameron.

Diane was an avid reader, writer, and crafter who was fond of fabric and needlework activities. Her generosity of spirit could be seen through her support with the American Cancer Society Greater Gardner Relay For Life, contributions to fundraising for the New England Amputee Association, and her involvement in First Baptist Church of Fitchburg. Her friends and family fondly remember their camping and summer vacation trips throughout New England, including the Bridge of Flowers.

Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, July 30 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
