GARDNER- Dolores “Dede” (Cronin) Garceau, 66, of Gardner, died Friday, May 26, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Dede was born August 15, 1956, in Fitchburg, daughter of Clarence and Alice (Laroche) Cronin. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1974 and received her bachelor’s degree from Fitchburg State College. Dede worked many years for the City of Leominster Department of Public Works and a brief period at the Leominster Police Department.
Dolores was spiritual and an active member of Annunciation Parish in Gardner and it’s Bible study group. She loved her cats and learning about the cosmos with her husband. Dede will be remembered as a kind and humble woman with a beautiful soul.
She leaves her husband with whom she would have celebrated 37 years of marriage on May 31st, Craig Garceau of Gardner; her children, Sean Garceau and wife, Mariko Uchiike of Japan and Hannah Garceau of Gardner; one brother, Edward Cronin and wife Susan of Fitchburg; three sisters, Patricia Secino, wife of the late Dr. Richard Secino of Leominster, Madeline Cormier and husband David of Ashburnham and Marion Cronin and companion Rheal Arsenault of Leominster; sister in law, Mariam Cronin; several nieces, nephews and in laws.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Michael Cronin, John Cronin and Thomas Cronin.
Calling hours are Thursday, June 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster.
The funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 2, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Please go directly to Church.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dede’s memory to an animal shelter of one’s choice.
