Born on May 23, 1957, in Hanson Massachusetts, Edward Coulstring Jr, passed away on March 20, 2023 at the age of 65, after a short illness.
Ed is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Paula Coulstring, his adult children Edward III, Nick, and Ernie, 10 grandchildren; Aja, Aly, Jake, Kasey, Jack, Abby, Jameson, Alyssa, Lexi and Taylor, his daughter’s in-law Anne and Amy, his son in-law Daniel, his sisters Cheryl, Janice, Ginny, and Laurie, his brother Charlie, and a copious amount of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Edward Sr. and Eva, his sister Cindy, granddaughter Cameron, and his two step-children Christopher and Kimberly.
Ed attended Whitman-Hanson High school where he found passion in playing the guitar, football, and muscle cars. At the age of sixteen, he decided to leave school to work for his father, the late Edward Coulstring Sr.
In 1976, Ed knew of what was happening in the world and felt it was his duty to help where he could. He proudly enlisted and served in The United States Marine Corps until 1978.
The majority of Ed’s adult life after his service to our country, was spent in the White Mountains of NH where he took pride in everything he did. For work, Ed held many titles; Truck driver, construction worker, Cub Scout Leader, baseball coach and Uber driver to name a few. First and foremost, however, the biggest love and title he held most dear to his heart, was that of family man. He met the true love of his life when he met his wife Paula, 16 years ago and had some of the happiest times in his life. Six years ago, Ed and Paula married and were able to enjoy their retired life traveling up and down the east coast in their camper with their dog Dora, who followed Ed around like his shadow. Ed adored spending time with his grandchildren whenever he could; playing with them at the beach, sitting them on his lap to teach them to drive the lawnmower on his perfectly maintained lawn, or making fried Oreos. With friends and other family, he enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, or simply spending time telling jokes and stories around a campfire. No matter what, where or with who, Ed always made people feel welcomed, loved and accepted. His laughter and ability to make friends and laugh wherever he went will be missed by all.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Edward for a period of visitation on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
