Edward "Archie" Gleason III Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Edward “Archie” Gleason, III of Bolton & Lancaster, MA announce that he passed away on February 21, 2024.  Archie lived most of his childhood in Lenox & Rowley, MA.

Archie was an extremely kind and caring man who dedicated his life to helping others. He was fueled by the desire to bring joy to people’s lives, aiming to evoke smiles and laughter.

He pursued a successful career in the field of energy production and management for over 38 years, the last 23 of which were with Mystic 8 & 9 and Constellation Energy. Professionally, and as a manager, Archie was known for his strong work ethic coupled with his ability to bring out the best in those around him. Archie always saw the strengths in people and he made sure everyone felt recognized and appreciated.

Archie, a lifelong athlete, entered the world wearing ice skates and shared his passion for sports with his children, guiding and coaching them in every athletic endeavor. Archie was deeply passionate about his Boston sports teams. A true fan, he was fortunate to celebrate 27 championships with the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox; many of which he saw in person and with his family.

Golf was always Archie’s passion. However, in recent years, he also found his peace and calm on the beaches of Aruba. It held a special place in his heart, being the treasured getaway for him and his family.

While Archie left us far too soon, his final act was one of generosity, becoming an organ & tissue donor and bestowing hope and life upon others.

Archie’s family was the cornerstone of his world and they meant everything to him. He is survived by his best friend and wife Lynn (Graves) Gleason, his cherished sons Ryan and Connor, his sister Elizabeth Evitts, his brother Stephen Gleason, his brother and sister in law Peter and Marcia Roddy, his niece Tiffany Evitts, Nephews Chris & Colin Roddy and Daniel Evitts, and his beloved dogs Roxy and Tuukka.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 11:00AM at Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. Calling hours will be Friday, March 1 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM and Saturday, March 2 from 9:30AM to 11:00AM. Burial will be at a later date.
