Eileen A. Farineau, a beacon of kindness and thoughtfulness, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on February 2, 2025. Born on October 16, 1935, Eileen's life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family, her passion for community engagement, and the joy she found in simple pleasures like cooking and playing games with loved ones.
Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, John Farineau, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Her sisters Beverly Lanza and her husband Joseph, also preceded her in passing. Eileen's legacy continues through her family, who will forever hold her in their hearts. She is survived by her loving sons, David Farineau and his wife Cathy, Donald Farineau and his wife Cheryl, and Stephen Farineau and his significant other Beth. Her sisters Janice St. Cyr and her husband Roger, Norma Bourque and her husband Norman, and Phyllis Eden, widowed by her late husband Harlan, will remember Eileen for her unwavering support and love.
Eileen's role as a grandmother was one of her most treasured. Her grandchildren Heather, Ashley, Emily and her husband Tyler, Amanda and her husband Cody Mecham, Jeffrey, and Hannah brought immense joy to her life. The delight was multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Carter and Paisley, who will grow up hearing the stories of their great-grandmother's love and kindness. Eileen's numerous nieces and nephews will also carry fond memories of their aunt, who treated each one as her own. She was also preceded in death by her best friend Denise Revell.
A proud member of the Leominster Senior Center, Eileen was an active participant in the community, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to the center's vibrant atmosphere. Her interests were varied, yet each one reflected her love for people and social interaction. A master in the kitchen, Eileen's cooking was a cornerstone of family gatherings, and her recipes will be passed down for generations to come. Her competitive spirit shone brightly during card games, Parcheesi, and Bingo, where she was a formidable opponent and a gracious winner.
Eileen's kindness was felt by all who knew her. She had a gift for making people feel seen and valued, and her thoughtful nature ensured that no birthday or special occasion was ever forgotten. Her ability to listen and offer wise counsel made her a confidant to many, and her gentle presence provided comfort during life's challenges.

Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us as we cherish the countless memories she has left behind. Eileen's departure from this world is not an end but a transition to a place where she is reunited with those she loved and lost, and where her light will continue to shine brightly. She will be dearly missed, but her influence will remain a powerful presence in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
