Elizabeth Pollastri Obituary

On Monday, February 15, 2021, Elizabeth Marie (Schrmack) Pollastri passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family. She had just celebrated her 92nd birthday.

She was born January 31, 1929 in Bridgeport, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles Schrmack and Rose (Batysta) Schrmack. She had four siblings: Margaret (Schrmack) Baxter (deceased), Francis Schrmack (deceased), Rosanna Schrmack, and James Schrmack. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Emilio Pollastri, with whom she had three children: Mark Pollastri of Bolton; Janice Pollastri of Leominster; and Carolyn Gordon of Gardner. Elizabeth is also survived by her daughter-in-law Cynthia Pollastri and son-in-law Dana Gordon. She was well-loved by her grandchildren—Elizabeth Pollastri, Kathryn Pollastri, Laura Gordon (deceased), Ross Gordon (deceased), Matthew Gordon, and Annelise Gordon. She leaves many nieces and nephews.

As a devout Catholic, Elizabeth was a member of St. Anna’s Parish in Leominster. With an affinity for mathematics and a prolific memory, she was employed as a payroll clerk at Foster Grant for many years, where she met her lifelong friend Margie Valera. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, cooking, and baking, among many other creative activities. Most of all, however, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and granddogs. Elizabeth was a kind, incredible woman and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She will be forever remembered in our hearts as a loving mother and grandmother.

Due to Covid restrictions all funeral services will be private. There will be a visitation at Richardson Funeral Home on Monday, February 22 followed by a Mass at St. Anna's Church. Burial will be at St. Leo's Cemetery.
