LEOMINSTER --- Ellis G. Holden “George” 89 years old, of Leominster, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by his family.
A resident of Leominster for most of his life. He was born September 3, 1932 in Leominster, MA. Anyone that knew him, experienced his gentle heart. He loved his family very much. He is predeceased by his wife, E. Lorraine Holden. He leaves behind his sister, Ruth Harnden of Florida. His three children, Ruthanne Farnsworth and her husband Ronald of Lancaster, Kenneth Holden and his wife Carolyn of Lancaster, and Douglas Holden and his wife Susan of Florida. Six grandchildren, Russell Farnsworth and his wife Cassandra of Arizona, Jennifer Farnsworth Wilson and her wife Sabrina of Florida, Jeffrey Farnsworth and his wife Stephanie of Lancaster, Joseph Holden and his partner Britney, and Katherine Beaudoin and her husband Brian, Samantha Breslin and her husband John of Florida. Three great grandchildren, Gianna Farnsworth of Arizona, and Judah and Maybelle Farnsworth of Lancaster.
He served in the army for his country in the Korean War. He was a member of Master Masons for 50 years, a member of Ida McKinley Chapter #86, and Jessamine Chapter #75 Order of the Eastern Star. He recently moved, in March of this year, to Oakdale Rehabilitation facility in West Boylston, Massachusetts. There he enjoyed daily activities such as Bingo, Bottoms up, and most recently painting. The family would like to take this time to thank the staff at Oakdale for taking good care of our beloved DAD.
Calling Hours will be held at Richardson Funeral Home at 106 West Street, Leominster, Massachusetts on Friday, October 15th from 3pm to 6pm. The funeral service will take place the next day on Saturday, October 16th at 10am in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net
