LEOMINSTER - Emily Antoinette (DeCarolis) Day, 79, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 4th in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital with family at her side.
She was born May 11th, 1937 in Leominster the daughter of the late Antonio and Theresa (Rosa) DeCarolis and was a lifelong resident of Leominster before moving to Sterling Village Care Center, Sterling, MA several years ago. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1955 and stayed active as a member of that class' reunion committee for many years.
Emily enjoyed working as a sales associate at Ruth Lee's in Leominster. She later enjoyed staying at home spending time tending to the vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed learning various crafts and decorating her home, especially at Christmas. Emily is fondly remembered by her four nieces, who had the privilege of growing up in the same multi-family house as her. She was a very giving and fun Aunt to be with. She loved to have craft sessions and was always teaching them something new. They spent many summers with her at one of her favorite places Ocean Park, ME. She nurtured and treated them as if they were her own. Emily loved traveling the roads of Vermont with her husband Ronnie, as well as other day tripping adventures.
She leaves her loving and devoted husband, Ronall H. Day with whom she would have celebrated their 56th anniversary this October 2nd. Besides her husband she leaves sisters, Mary Garrett of Sterling and Veronica Lorenzen of Leominster. She also leaves her sister-in-laws Carol Ann Day, Donna Osland and her husband George. Emily also leaves many nieces and nephews and God children.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, resident staffs, and other professionals for their compassionate care from Health Alliance Leominster Hospital, Sterling Village Care Center, Sterling, MA and Divita Dialysis, Fitchburg, MA who cared for Emily so lovingly.
