Eva D'Onfro Obituary

Eva C. (D'Innocenzo) D'Onfro, a spirited and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 13, 2024, at Sterling Village Nursing Home. Born on May 24, 1931, in Leominster, Massachusetts, Eva lived a vibrant life filled with passion, creativity, and adventure.

A graduate of Leominster High School in 1949, Eva was recognized for her exceptional athletic abilities. She was a standout player on both the basketball and softball teams, remembered for being "small but mighty." Her competitive spirit and leadership on the field were a testament to her character and determination.

Eva's work ethic was unparalleled. She took great pride in her career, contributing significantly to the space industry by assembling cables for NASA. Her precision and dedication to her work were evident in the quality of her craftsmanship. Eva's talents extended beyond her professional life into her hobbies. She was a skilled artisan, creating beautiful needlepoint and crochet pieces that were as meticulous as they were artistic.

Family was the cornerstone of Eva's life. She was a loving wife to her husband, Albert D'Onfro, and a nurturing mother to her children, Sharon (D'Onfro) Stadtherr & husband David, Ronald D'Onfro and husband Jeffrey Clark, Jodi Ingerson, and Michael D'Onfro. Her parents, Louis and Yola D'Innocenzo, instilled in her the values of love, family, and hard work. Eva was a cherished sister to James D'Innocenzo and wife Mary, Louis D'Innocenzo and wife Judy, Rita Gardner and husband William, and Michael D'Innocenzo & wife Jacki.

Eva's joy multiplied with the birth of each grandchild and great-grandchild. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Brian Bateman, Ryan Ingerson and wife Justina, Lindsay (Stadtherr) Wahlberg and husband Kyle, Nicholas Stadtherr and wife Kelly, Kaila D'Onfro and husband Cory, Danielle D'Onfro, and Michael D'Onfro. Her great-grandchildren, Zain, Gavin, Weston, Emilia, Rayne, and Austin, brought her immeasurable happiness and pride.

An adventurous soul, Eva's love for the outdoors was contagious. She found solace in the roar of a motorcycle, the tranquility of camping, the excitement of boating and fishing, and the wonder of cross-country trips. These activities were not merely pastimes but a reflection of her zest for life and her desire to embrace every moment.

Eva's departure leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and perseverance. Her life was a tapestry of meaningful connections, hard work, and cherished memories. As we say farewell to Eva C. (D'Innocenzo) D'Onfro, we celebrate the life of a woman who was truly one of a kind, and whose spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
