Evelyn Sanborn Obituary

Evelyn “Evie” Mary Sanborn (Gove), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 13th, 2025 at the age of 95. She was born on November 17, 1929, and lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends. She was born in Leominster, Massachusetts to Lester H. Gove and Ruth E. Wallace Clark.

Evelyn was the cherished wife of the late Kenneth Charles Sanborn, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and adventure, living in Massachusetts, Hawaii, Maine, and Florida.

Throughout her life, Evelyn was known for her gentle spirit, love of never stopping and the water. She loved going to the pool for water aerobics and synchronize swimming. Her family and friends will always remember her as someone who found joy in traveling and being a snowbird for over forty years.

She is survived by her children; Gary Sanborn, Dale Rotti and her husband Raymond Rotti, her grandchildren Jason Sanborn and his wife Heidi Sanborn, Belinda Sanborn her husband Huei-Sheng Vincent Chen, Tammy Sanborn, Jeremy Sanborn, Ryan Sanborn, and Jessica Sanborn, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Husband Kenny Sanborn of forty-four years, her partner of twenty-two years, Marion F. Pettit, daughter Susan Sanborn, son David Sanborn, and her siblings, Kenneth C Gove, Marjorie E Vorse, Herbert (Herby) L Gove, Phyllis M Karlson, Laurence (Red) A Gove. Evelyn’s legacy lives on in all who were touched by her warmth and compassion.

A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held on Saturday, September 27th at her home in Lancaster, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory from 1:00 to 4:00 pm with a service from 1:30 to 2:00 pm. There will also be a burial planned for July 25th, 2026 at Evergreen Cemetery for all to attend. There will also be a celebration of life scheduled at the end of December in the park in Bonita Terra (formally Citrus Park), Bonita Springs, FL where she spent her winters.

Evelyn will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her love, strength, and the example she set for those who knew her.
