Francis "Fra" Salvi Obituary

On Wednesday, March 15, 2023 Francis “Fra” Salvi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family. Fra was born on the Fourth of July in 1947 to Yolanda and Nicholas Salvi of Leominster.

Fra was a lifelong resident of Leominster, MA. He graduated from Leominster High School in 1965. After high school he joined the National Guard. In 1969 he married the love of his life, Barbara (Roberts) who he met at West Side Pharmacy in 1967. Fra always said it was love at first sight!

Fra worked for Digital Equipment Corporation from the late 1960s until his early retirement where he was a Production Supervisor. He worked there for over 20 years.

Fra then worked as a car salesman, spending most of his career with North End Mazda. He loved selling cars. What made Fra such a wonderful salesman was that people could trust him. He made everyone in his presence feel at ease with his kind, laid back nature.

Through much of the 80s he was often found on the baseball field coaching his son Nick and leading his teams to many championship seasons! He spent decades vacationing in Maine at the same campsite he grew up going to with his parents. Fra also loved fishing, golfing, playing the daily number, spending time with his grandchildren and watching his beloved New York Giants! He looked forward to Fantasy Football season every year!

Fra was best known for his relaxed, easy going personality and his fun sense of humor! Everyone who knew Fra loved him! He is survived by his wife, Barbara of almost 54 years, his son Nick and his wife Carolyn of Naples, FL and his daughter Lori Tata and her husband Jay of Stow, MA. Fra had 5 grandchildren who loved him very much. He leaves Anthony Tata (23), Frankie Salvi (21), Angelina Tata (21), Rocco Tata (18) and Giana Salvi (14). He also leaves his devoted sister Judi Salvi of Westminster MA, and seventeen nieces and nephews. Fra’s “in-laws” were more like sisters and brothers. He leaves Paul and Jackie Hester,  Patricia Jameson, Marilyn Daigle, Richard Roberts, and Paul and Norma Roberts.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 22 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster, MA.
