George Gallant Obituary

LEOMINSTER --- George A. Gallant, 69 years old, of Leominster, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 13th after a courageous battle with cancer.

George was born on June 2nd, 1952 in Leominster to George J. and Gloria (Sambito) Gallant, and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a 1971 graduate of the Leominster High Trade School, where he had numerous shutouts during a winning season as a varsity soccer goalie.

After graduation, George started his professional career at Decatone, and then worked for Digital Equipment Corporation, and later for local plastics company Holiday Housewares as a marketing manager. Until his retirement in 2020, he managed the Leominster Knights of Columbus Council 406.

In 1973 George married the love of his life, Deborah (Guinard), and they had two daughters, Christi and Brandi.

A man of many interests, George was an avid music fan who owned and operated his own successful DJ company ‘Tune Factory’ for 15 years, a local favorite in North Central MA. A lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, he enjoyed working alongside his brother knights contributing to the community. George was an accomplished photographer, who also created unique ‘smoke art’ pictures and digitally manipulated water images. He loved to photograph the Maine Coastline, and had a fondness for capturing scenic lighthouses in his own distinctive way. He enjoyed vacationing with his family on the Cape and in Old Orchard Beach. Passionate about his fantasy football, George looked forward to every season, and athletic throughout his life, George pursued cycling, weight training, basketball and golf.

Above all, George was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, all who will miss him dearly.

George was predeceased by his father, George, and is survived by his mother, Gloria, his wife Debbie, his daughters Christi and husband Kurt Grausam, and Brandi and husband Richard Cormier, granddaughter Holly and husband John O’Brien, grandsons Noah Cormier and Cameron Isabelle, his brother Bruce Gallant and wife Joy, and his sister Laurie Massood, along with many nieces and nephews.
